August 10th show even better than the 9th (For me anyway)

I'm damned if I can really believe it. I went to last nights show and sat in the 2nd section off the floor. (211 for those familar with the arena) Not too bad a seat. Heck I was ecstatic just to be there. Unfortunately, I had no ticket to tonight's show. I had joined npgmc just to have access to the presale but I had the bad luck to be out of town when it was announced. Then I dorked around like an idiot trying to decide whether to buy a seat that was worse than my 8/9 seat. After seeing the show last night though, my increased motivation was just more than my normal procratinating self could handle. So I logged on to the org and found someone with a "maybe" ticket for sale. But as luck would have it, (mine anyway) just as we met at the window, the people with the first call on them showed up. So I stood at the window begging for a spare ticket with my best hangdog look. Luckily, a very nice npg person heard me and sold me the ticket his friend was unable to use. It was 7 rows from the stage and the best seat I've ever had for a concert and a Godsend for a Prince concert.

With my mini-bushnells I could see the show as if I was right on the stage. I could make out the "Taylor" on Prince's guitar, the dazzling diamond ring Rhonda was wearing, her dazzling looks, (I knew she was a fox but, just, WOW!), and every nuance of John Blackwell's audacious performance.

I guess my favorite highlights of the show were the birds eye view of Rhonda, and Rhonda, and Rhonda, and uh, oh yeah, Prince doing "The Beautiful Ones" and "Purple Rain".

Awww heck. Truthfully, every last second was a highlight.

And to think, I started not to even go just because I didn't have a ticket.

Nuihc.....(A VERY HAPPY Nuihc)

PS: If the super nice person who sold the ticket for row G seat 5 reads this, Thanks again!

Cool review. biggrin

It seems like a pattern for P to turn up his performance on the second night when he is doing multiple shows in a city.

I had even better seats this time (on row D of the NPG Music Club section...on the side where Rhonda was and Prince sat on the couch reading Rolling Stone); however, I should've brought some earplugs. That was the first time I've ever been to a concert and I couldn't even hear my girl was saying to me...yelling.

That was the best concert I've seen on this tour. The rendition of "Nothing Compares 2 U" blew me away.
