My Indy aftershow detailed review

At the end of the concert they announce after party and show at Birdies but I was still wondering if they would really play. Jeff and I talked it over and decided to go so we drooped off Mom and Bridget got a drink and all that then headed out. When we got there the club was already full. I seen two people walking back to their car and asked them if they knew anything. They were told "they are 99% sure he will play but it's $30 to get in and we already paid $85 for each ticket, that is to much" I'm thinking $30 OK then he might really play...go back home old people if that's to much for you. We get to the door and I ask a guy standing outside if he knows anything he says "no, this is my first night working here" LOL when I asked him I didn't think he was a worker. As we get closer Sam says $30 unless you have a member pass I'm like HELL YEAH. We didn't get a laminate at the concert ... when we walked in for the sound check Dustin and another guy were sitting at the table with the list checking it. I didn't think they were passing out laminates because we didn't get one I thought they ran out or something until I read the other two reports....I would have liked to have a couple more but oh well. Luckily we had our laminates from Saturday's concert. We go in have a few drinks, check the place out, and all. It was packed I'd guess 1,000 people. Since we were late and the place was full I asked Jeff if he wanted to go upstairs to watch...it was kinda like a loft. We go to the stairs but of course they have a guard watching them with a gate up but Jeff said something to him and he let us up. We could see real good up there. We sat down at a table with a screen that showed the stage, had our drinks and I called my girl to tell her what was going on then I watched a girl kick some guys ass at pool. We keep checking the screen to see what was going on. Takumi was setting up everything and when he was done I thought well we better go get a standing spot. We got one right at the over look thingy (you could call this first row if there were rows) Now here is a funny part... I look at Jeff and he has this omg look on his face then he starts talking to some lady so I look at her and it was a Mother of our oldest daughters classmates who also Jeff is her daughters basketball coach. It was so funny because it's like at school we are this family where Dad is a computer tech and basketball coach with the part time working/stay at home Mom but now we are drinking it up and partying with this other Mother ... anyway she's a member too LOL unreal. The first thing I notice about the stage is those aren't Blackwell's drums and it don't look like they were going to set his up. I'm thinking that place is going to have to get some new ones after tonight cuz JB gonna tear them up! I mean they were laughable like 3 sets put together this part blue that part red and another part that didn't fit and shit LOL. There were to sisters next to me that were in awe over what they were about to see and I know they would go nuts when Prince walked in so I was keeping an eye on the door (remember I'm up high looking down) with them waiting for Prince to walk in. I seen a fight and that always just freaks me out to see something like that in real life. I don't know how the fight started but what I seen was 4 guys holding this one guy then another guy come grab him by the neck and run tossing him out the door as they ran into a parked car so hard it moved quit a bit. The band members were showing up and playing a little then Prince soon came after. Atomic Dog, some "Touch" jam, The Ride, Calhoun Square, Paisley Park and Soul Sacrifice Jam and just jam jam jam jam jam...only 6 or 7 songs but the concert lasted about 80 minutes. During the Touch jam Prince picked up a paper drink coaster or maybe someone handed it to him and he played his guitar with it. Prince was in a good playful mood. A few people had some glow sticks waving them around and Prince said "now I can't be playing with flashing lights in my face" in a joking way. Not long after that Prince says "I can't be having my picture taken up in here" so a worker turned the camera around to face a wall then turned it off. The Ride sounds awesome. Calhoun Square just floored me!!!!! it will be a long time before I get over it. Then came Paisley Park good God this was a surprise and great! He did a lot of talking for this song...."NPG members where you at? next time I go on tour I'm just taking you....goin to put you in the bus but our money goes into the instruments so I can't do catering.....naw now I'm serious, no catering" then more talking (it was kinda hard to hear the talking at this place) then as he's still singing Paisley Park he says "come to the park and play with us that will be June 21st" Then just more unbelievable jamming. When he was done he quickly said "good night" and left. The band members stayed around for a bit signing things and Blackwell had a few pictures taken with fans, he also autographed the little drum set. I'm sure all the workers there are big fans now. We walked to the bus with Blackwell and left after our good byes.
SURREAL!

I take my time and I pour my heart out telling what happen and you're worried about paragraphs. Thanks a lot. Sorry I didn't think prince.org was an online school class.
After I posted it here I shorten and cleaned it up a bit then sent it to NPG, maybe you can read that one better. At least it was good enough for them but I'm sure it wont be for you.

You did a good job, don't worry about it! I good to the club way early myself, and I was right next to the stage at first. Some pervert was bothering my wife who was sitting down because her feet were hurting, so I almost got into a fight myself! I'm glad I didn't, because Prince Rocked! Had it been anyone one else performing.....

See, I make mistakes too! I meant to say I "got" to the club early. Maybe I should start using that "preview response" button....

4 ChocolateInvasion...

Complete sentence?

This is an internet message board... y, do paragraphs matter? Maybe bcuz someone was lacking anything else 2 say in responce. But, if that is the case, y respond with criticism about paragraphs, with a single word that does not make a complete sentence (question)?

If paragraphs r what U want... May I suggest a fully edited book as opposed 2 posts on Prince.org?

Just a thought.

missed the aftershow - thanks for your review

how do you get better seats for his shows? i paid top dollar a day before they went on sale and wound up 5 rows back in the balcony - all seats are fabulous at the Murat - every Prince show I've been too is out of this world visceral. Prince is one of the few musicians I care to experience in person - always wonderful.

r u an english professor? let me see yo paypahs.

some ppl avoid posting reviews because of ppl like u. she took the time to write it up and post it after persuasion from me and other fams and what happpens? first response is something negative. if u didnt like the post, then y read and respond. no 1 is obligated to post a review and a word 2 the wise would b, if u care what happens at the shows, dont criticize reviews.

read and enjoy or move along
