my louisville experience with fams and the man

Hey guys, just wanted to give my views on the show as i just got in and they are fresh in my mind.
Got to the hotel at about 1pm. I shoulda got a couple of hours sleep but you know how that goes (lol). At 3pm Happysunshine (and mushroomboy) checked into the hotel. We hung out and partied for about an hour.I just want to sat that they are very GRACIOUS people and made me feel right at home.Being fellow fanatics made the "introductory" thing alot easier.
Got dressed and went to the gig at about 4:30.Yeah it was cold, but everybody is used to the "wait"when it comes to prince so i heard no complaints. It was funny 'cause i saw people i knew from the orgsite but i wasn't sure how to approach them right away.Isn't that silly?
When we were waiting a woman said "Are you Rainbowray"? It turned out to be Semisonic. She introduced me to her family, and we talked for a bit..turned out her husband had the seat right next to me at the show.Just wanted to say he was really cool to rock out with.
Then we went in for the soundcheck...read the reports and i don't have 2 much more 2 add.Yeah the preacher was a bit longwinded, but the conversation was great, and I believe that the informalness, and openess of the soundcheck made people and the vibe VERY relaxed and cool inside the building. And the version of "Pillow" absolutely rocked!
During the intermission I met another couple of orgers.Electric Chair was there with her friends. She seemed very cool, and was sitting right behind me.She seemed to enjoy the performance and having a great time.
I also met diamondandpearls. She was having a personal crisis, and i was happliy suprised to see her there.I hope the show took her mind off "issues" for a couple of hours..She is a huge fan of prince, and was another in the line of great people i met that night.
As for the show,I'll give you my "take".Going to shows regularly since the"lovesexy"days, this one was no different. The performance by prince and whatever band he has always blows my mind. When he played "purple rain" during the medley you could hear and see the collective groan from the hardcore people in the front rows (lol).I came to see TRC material and for the next hour or so that was the bulk of the show..Xenophobia also sounds original and fresh..The riff created between prince and Rhonda with john blackwells pounding during "Family Name" rock my personal world from the front row.The smooth,SWEET musical and theatrics during both "Mellow" and "Muse" were fantastic! Sue me,but I'm over "take me with u"....but LOVED his performance on "I love you but i cant trust you anymore.
As long as this performer continues to put his heart, soul, and mind into his craft, and I "get" what he is trying to do,I will continue to go to the shows. The talent oozes from prince, and it's a pleasure to watch.
Happysunshine and Rainbowray drove back to TN...and stayed at Happy's house, until i finally left a few hours ago, because we had so much in common that I forced myself to leave!! I'm here now,and I'm spilling my guts..Thanks again to all the people i met.Actually went out after the show(no afterparty...who cares)with people but was very tired. They were hungry so we parted ways after a few drinks..i hope to come to the "celebration"...last night's was great!
