Chicago March 2nd review (crowd control, and security issues) (I didn't know how to get this viewed in the proper place, please put this where it belongs! Thanks)
Just some quick notes I've wanted to add about the Saturday Night Chicago show. I sat in the second row of seats on the main floor, just left of center stage as you look at it, on the aisle. I'm a tall white man with a tall black wife. You would all know us if you have been to any of the Princefest's in the past 6 years The show was incredible. Letting us watch the soundcheck was great, as was the conversation with Prince. Some people were irritating as they were almost yelling at Prince about tickets and such. Give me a break! We should be thanking him, not bitching to him. One particular heavy-set black woman with long RED hair was really complaining. I'll get to her later..... The show was great, Prince was musically at his best, as was the entire band. The new keyboard player really fits well into this type of jazzy show. I love Morris Hayes, but I don't think he could of pulled this set-list off like Renato Neto. He has some chops! Now for the part where I bitch. I am a premium member who just got lucky enough to get good seats. The large black lady with the red hair did not, but man, she thought everyone owed her something. Instead of sitting where she was supposed to, she would walk up the aisle and stand in front of us for most of the show. I paid 125 for 2 tickets, drove 4 hours in blizzard-like visibility, paid for a room at the Palmer House, and most of the night I could only see that girl's rather large butt. The security at this venue is WEAK. She was allowed to stand up there for the most part because of all the rubbing and promise-making she did with the security guard up there. Whatever she promised him paid off, he wouldn't make her move. I finally had to get someone else to move her. I've been to more Prince events than I care to mention, and I've never seen a more rude person than this "lady." Prince, nor the other fans at the show, owe her anything. All total I spent nearly 500 dollars in tickets and travel to see this show, and she ruined it for my wife and I. I'm glad that when she took her at least size 12 shoes off that the security guard stepped on her foot. I hope she broke one of those corn chips right off. If you know who I'm talking about, let her know that nobody appreciated her actions that night, and she should be ashamed of herself. Now, I did feel sorry for her. She obviously has nothing in her life other than Prince, because nobody would be that rude and inconsiderate otherwise. Please get another hobby, or get some manners. If you know this person, please tell her about this article. Thanks. The show was great, though. | |
