What's happening with Essence in N.O. Friday?

First of all I would like to send out my deepest sorrow to John and his family, what a terrible tragedy.

Secondly, does anyone know if Prince will officially cancel the headling show opening the Essence Festival in New Orleans on Friday? I have seen nothing about this show w/ The Time, only statements on the Chicago shows.

Says over at NPGMC that the show is going to happen.
