Except when you make fun of their religious hypocrisy or their hero Trump.

conservates(could be Democrats) moderates(could be Democrat or Republican) and libertarians?

.

less triggered, not looking for safe spaces, not so offended, and don't use words like microaggressions etc

not really fun people

but seriously, men tend to be more light hearted than women, and conservative people tend to not be emotionally reactive, like liberal people. Men overall(dispite political party) tend to be more conservative. We get over things easier/quicker and not as offended. But that's for another M/F discussion

[Opinion] Dave Chappelle's Fall From Grace is No Laughing Matter

Keith Reed

[Opinion] Dave Chappelle'... (msn.com)

Yahoo reported that last week, the embattled comedian’s alma mater quietly, uh, cancelled a scheduled event where Chappelle was supposed to appear to help the school raise money. Some students had threatened to walk out over his appearance in the wake of a running controversy about jokes in his latest Netflix stand-up special.

Dave Chappelle speaks onstage during the 36th Annual Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse on October 30, 2021 in Cleveland, Ohio.

The fundraiser at Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, D.C., was originally scheduled for Nov. 23. The school has said the event is postponed until next year.

From Yahoo:

The event was up in the air after two students told the newsletter that their peers had a heated debate with faculty after they were told they would have to help put together an exhibition to honor the comedian on the same day as the fundraiser.

The students said they were uncomfortable supporting Chappelle because many of their classmates identify as LGBTQ+. In his new Netflix special, The Closer, the comedian compares being transgender to wearing blackface, says “gender is a fact” and says that he’s a member of “team TERF,” meaning “trans-exclusionary radical feminists.”

Despite invitations for the event having already been sent to multiple patrons, the school first reportedly elected to cancel the fundraiser, shirking Chappelle, who has given back to his alma mater in a number of way over the years: he donated $100,000 to the school, gave it one of his Emmy awards in 2017, delivered a commencement address, held a master class for students and regularly visited campus with other notable celebrities, including Bradley Cooper and Chris Tucker, the report says.

Last month some Netflix employees staged a walkout over the comedian’s material. Chappelle, meanwhile, is still framing the issue as one of “cancel culture” and hasn’t apologized for his material. Stay tuned for more developments on this story in the coming months.

Dave Chappelle Speaks on 'The Closer' Controversy for First Time

BNC News
Dave Chappelle broke his silence on the controversy surrounding his latest Netflix special, "The Closer." BNC's Sharon Reed and Mike Hill have this story on "Start Your Day." In a five-minute video posted on Instagram, Chappelle said the controversy is not related to the LGBTQ+ community. Instead, Chappelle said the controversy is surrounding "corporate interest" about what he can say. He also noted that he would have met with Netflix employees who walked out, but he alleged they never asked. Regardless, the comedian said he is willing to meet with members of the transgender community, but only if they watch the special from beginning to end.

At least he's not pretending to be some victim like those trans whiners who complain about things not even in this special.

Trans Netflix workers drop labor complaint but one resigns

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Two former Netflix employees who criticized anti-transgender comments on Dave Chappelle’s TV special are dropping labor complaints and one has resigned from the company, it was announced Monday.

Terra Field, a senior software engineer who is trans, announced that Field had voluntarily resigned as of Sunday.

“This isn’t how I thought things would end, but I’m relieved to have closure,” Field said in a resignation letter posted online.

Chappelle's “The Closer” first aired on Oct. 1 and gained millions of views. However, Chapelle’s disparaging remarks about the transgender community raised protests within Netflix and from activists. About 30 Netflix workers staged a an Oct. 20 walkout and joined a rally at Netflix offices in Los Angeles.

Field was suspended by the company after attending a business meeting for senior executives but was quickly reinstated.

Field and B. Pagels-Minor, a game launch operations program manager who also is trans, filed a complaint with the National Labor Relations Board. They alleged that Netflix retaliated against the workers to keep them from speaking up about working conditions, including “Netflix’s products and the impact of its product choices on the LGBTQ+ community."

“We have resolved our differences in a way that acknowledges the erosion of trust on both sides and, we hope, enables everyone to move on,” Netflix said in a statement Monday.

Pagels-Minor has acknowledged that they were the employee that Netflix fired last month for allegedly disclosing confidential financial information about what it paid for “The Closer.” The information was referenced in a Bloomberg news article.

Pagels-Minor has denied the allegations.

Netflix ran into a buzz-saw of criticism not only with the special but in how internal memos responded to employees’ concerns, including co-CEO Ted Sarandos’ assertion that “content on screen doesn’t directly translate to real-world harm.”

Sarandos also wrote that Netflix doesn’t allow titles that are “designed to incite hate or violence, and we don’t believe ‘The Closer’ crosses that line.”

Netflix continues to make the special available for streaming.
