yes...of course there is...but in America, the cops execute brown people for sport #AndrewBrownJr.

there is no evidence to support this

Lotsa whites. Cops are class managers.

thats a blatant lie...its not "lotsa whites" being mercilessly and unnecessarily murdered by white cops...the only whites getting killed by cops are the ones stupid enough to run up on cops with guns in their hands, aiming and shooting at cops...black men and women can be complying, or handcuffed face down on the ground, or sleeping in their beds, and still get gunned down by the cops.

Or with their hands on a steering wheel, or a little kid playing with a toy gun, etc. etc. etc.

Thank you...that shit makes no sense. I live in NYC....I don't want less cops - despite what Bree Newsome thinks, I want more, especially the with warm weather coming up. I have nothing but hate for these lowlife thugs preying on their own and bringing down neighborhoods. They would shoot you, me or any of our family members in a heartbeat just to get paid. I want them dealt with swiftly - lock them up and throw away the key.

All I'm asking is for cops to do the job right like my father and brother did.

I watched the first few minutes of the first video and then had to turn it off because he was talking shit. The talking points that he made about "no outrage over black on black crime" is a total lie. There is plenty of outrage and plenty of grassroots community organizing that has been going on for DECADES across the country. I hate it when some black people think they are being profound by espousing this bullshit and what they're saying simply isn't true. How can I take this guy seriously when he's talking shit and has a bunch of weird face tattoos?

Exactly. These same critics live in a pool of denial. Their conscience can’t handle the ugly truths that race has been a major factor, in many unarmed Blacks being murdered by racist/bad cops, who shoot to kill us first/not preserve our lives.

The critics’/deniers’ famous excuse line is ‘What about Black-on-Black crime?’ but will ignore the crimes their own racial group imposes on one another. It’s all an excuse to dismiss the ugly truth that many Black Americans are immediately murdered by racist/bad cops in the majority of those encounters.

The dismissive attitudes/comments from some critics who support bad/racist cops is like a page out of America in the 1870s. Just imagine if some of these folks were alive then?

The big question is, how come the killing of Black Americans by Black cops isn’t happening at the same rate, as the killings by White cops on Black Americans? A big difference. The latter being a pattern for years.

Let's be honest, 90% (if not higher) of the time, it is white cops killing people of color, usually the color is black.

It's happened too many damn times, and frequently here recently.

Exactly, and to add to that, how come the rate of Black cops killing Blacks is no where close to the extremely, high rate of White cops killing Black citizens?

I don’t see how anyone can miss that there is a ‘pattern’ of these murders by White officers killing Black American citizens, for years in this country, and it is rare that these cops are convicted.

For those who intentionally play blind to that pattern, it’s because that truth makes their conscience very uncomfortable.

Racial disparity in police shootings unchanged over 5 years

By Brita Bellioctober 27, 2020

(Edited for compliance)

“.. Over the past five years there has been no reduction in the racial disparity in fatal police shooting victims despite increased use of body cameras and closer media scrutiny, according to a new report by researchers at Yale and the University of Pennsylvania.

Using information from a national database compiled and maintained by The Washington Post, researchers found that victims identifying as Black, Indigenous, or People of Color (BIPOC), whether armed or unarmed, had significantly higher death rates compared with whites. And those numbers remained relatively unchanged from 2015 to May 2020. The report appears in the Oct. 27 edition of the Journal of Epidemiology and Public Health.

While the data are already publicly available, the researchers decided to enter it into the scientific literature and present it using methods that are accepted by science as rigorous and robust. It’s critical, said author Dowin Boatright, assistant professor of emergency medicine at Yale, that fatal police shootings of BIPOC are recognized and treated as a public health emergency.

In an analysis of 4,653 fatal shootings for which information about both race and age were available, the researchers found a small but statistically significant decline in white deaths (about 1%) but no significant change in deaths for BIPOC. There were 5,367 fatal police shootings during that five-year period, according to the Post’s database. In the case of armed victims, Native Americans were killed by police at a rate three times that of white people (77 total killed). Black people were killed at 2.6 times the rate of white people (1,265 total killed); and Hispanics were killed at nearly 1.3 times the rate of white people (889 total killed). Among unarmed victims, Black people were killed at three times the rate (218 total killed), and Hispanics at 1.45 times the rate of white people (146 total killed).”

About half of all people killed by police are white. Yes that is still a lower rate by population but that is not the only valid factor. I have never denied this. I even said it was a disproportional rate.....even if we adjust for police interactions.

Unless I am in error someone said it wass 90% of people killed by police were black or even people of color. That is not true and that is not even suppored by the post above.

And then it was said that black cops shoot black people at a much lower rate as white cops. That was what I asked support for....it was not provided as it doesn't exist.

Right now in Newark NJ, there are zero police killings. That is a huge crime center. What is behind the stat? Better training! So much for they are trained to kill blacks.

You need to do better research for Newark, PD. It changed because the DOJ stepped in. The change was all due to police reform, and the hiring of more Black and Brown police officers. They had anti-bias training and revamped use-of-force policies.

https://www.google.com/am...utType=amp

This is what you fail to accept. Just because you claim there hasn’t been any police killings in Buffalo, NY, in 3 years, there was still police shootings there. Your example does not erase the fact that in this country, many unarmed Blacks have been murdered mainly by White police officers. You are painting a false picture with your nonsense. That’s like saying just because Barack Obama became President, that suddenly, magically racism disappeared.

You have to treat each Police dept separately, and in comparing one with the other, by measuring their hiring practices/requirements/training policies. Perhaps if better training, (which is badly needed in many PDs, )in areas of use-of-force, preventing unnecessary traffic stops just to fill a town or city’s pockets, culture/sensitivity training, de-escalation practices such as dealing with someone with mental health issues, instead of shooting first.

There was a situation in Buffalo, NY last year, where a deranged man was walking with a bat, he turned around swung at officers, they pepper sprayed him; that didn’t work; then he hit an officer with the bat, and a second officer, shot the suspect in the abdomen and another part of suspect‘a body. The suspect was hospitalized. The man lived, and the officers were also wearing body cameras.

They at least attempted other measures before making the decision to shoot him.

That is the point some are missing. Why 4 bullets when all it could have taken was one bullet, and not directly at the chest, where she may have lived. Four bullets, too excessive. Some armed mass killers don’t even get shot like that.

Cop begs knife-wielding man in standoff: 'You’re a black man. I’m a black man. You don’t have to die today. I don’t want you to die today.'

NEWS

Police asked Matthew Williams to drop his knife at least 47 times before fatally shooting him

The voice of a DeKalb County, Georgia, police sergeant on bodycam video encapsulated the tragedy that occurred last week.

"I'm begging you," the sergeant pleaded with a knife-wielding man through a closed door after a 911 call about a reported prowler, WXIA-TV said. "You're a black man. I'm a black man. You don't have to die today. I don't want you to die today."

Exactly. nod That white male cop saved a black female life!

But in fairness, 4 gunshots were not necessary [IMO] to take down Ma'Khia with a knife. One gunshot should have been enough to get it done. Nonetheless, he should not be terminated from his career in law enforcement.
