Reports on this still being gathered, but reported on the news, that sadly, one of the Capitol officers injured by suspect, has passed away from his injuries. Prayers to his family.

So far, police said not ‘terror-related’.

https://www.cnn.com/polit...index.html

“Just after 1 p.m., a man in a blue sedan rammed his vehicle into the North Barricade at the US Capitol, striking 2 USCP officers," US Capitol Police said in a statement. "The Department immediately locked down the Capitol Campus. The man exited the vehicle with a knife and ran toward our officers. At least one officer, drew their weapon and shot the suspect."

So the suspect, struck both officers with his car, and exited the vehicle brandishing a knife and running towards the officers, and the driver shot the suspect. So apparently from the ramming the car into the officers, then exiting the car with knife in hand, he was seen as a threat.

What truth hurts? Lol

Reports about the suspect is that the guy claimed he feared the FBI/CIA, and was a supporter of Farrakhan. Facts are that he rammed his car into two Capitol police officers, exited the car brandishing a knife towards them, and the cops shot him. One cop died from the injuries, Other cop still in hospital, suspect shot dead. Law enforcement state they still don’t know what his motive was. Info on that still pending. I don’t see anyone here denying any of that or supporting the suspect. So what’s your point?

By the way, Farrakhan is more right wing than left. You should know that.

Capitol Attack Suspect Ranted About the ‘End Times’ Before Allegedly Ramming Officers

Rachel Olding 11 hrs ago

Two weeks before he allegedly rammed his car into two police officers guarding the U.S. Capitol, killing one of them, Noah Green posted an article on his Facebook page titled, “Lull Before the Storm.”

“An Intro to the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and his divine warning to us all during these last days of our world as we know it. Satan’s rule over us is up,” the 25-year-old’s apocalyptic post said, linking to an article from Final Call, the official newspaper of the Nation of Islam.

Green’s social media posts suggest he was spiraling in the lead up to Friday, and some of it had nothing to do with religion. Among other problems, he posted about losing his job.

But he also described searching for “a spiritual journey” within the Nation of Islam, a religious Muslim sect that the Southern Poverty Law Center classifies as a hate group for its “bizarre theology of innate black superiority over whites” and “deeply racist, antisemitic and anti-gay rhetoric.”

Nothing indicated a clear motive for targeting the police, nor the U.S. Capitol building located hours from the stretch of Virginia he seemed to have recently called home.

But as congressional staff grabbed lunch on Friday, Green allegedly rammed his dark blue sedan into two officers guarding a barricade on a road outside the Capitol.

He then jumped out of the car and lunged at officers with a knife, U.S. Capitol Police Chief Yogananda Pittman said, prompting them to fatally shoot him. A senior law enforcement official confirmed to The Daily Beast that Green was the suspect, though he has not yet been officially identified by police. One Capitol Police officer, William “Billy” Evans, died, and a second officer was left hospitalized. He was said to be in stable condition late Friday...

I haven’t seen any reports that it was politically motivated either. I did read that Law enforcement still don’t know what his motive was yet.

the whole right vs Left wing is a mess... most have some left idea and some right.. like myself. But this person was not a republican he hated trump he expressed anti US government ideas. He follows a very hateful bigoted person who openly calls for his followers to kill white people...

And from a traditional model i am much more liberal... by a modern usage I have ideas well left and right of center and well as moderate.

I often notice how some use left or right as either an insult or as a means to excuse behaivor that is not a good fit into their narrative.

When this happed many just assumed it must be a white MAGA type! (same with CO) when we find out the truth some throw up "well he is still right wing."

I was thinking the same thing: Farrakhan and the NOI are essentially right wing, since they are in favor of theocratic rule and the demonization of specific groups of people for inherent characteristics
