Where Did It Go? (semi-spiritual chat)

I was in the middle of sewing the other day, listening to SOTT SDE. As I was stitching along, a thought popped in my head.

When someone dies, where does the talent go? If God gives the gift of music, writing, painting, whatever (a gift comes in many forms, not just artistic), then when the person dies, where does the gift go? Is a talent/gift tangible? We could argue yes because we hear Prince's gifts every time we play his music. And if God is eternal, with no beginning and no end, then his gifts have to be eternal as well. And if God never asks for his gifts back, then where does the gift/talent go when a person dies?

I'm sure when someone passes over that they still retain their gifts on the other side. And maybe it returns to the Creator.

I guess we could look at different beliefs and what they believe

I the case of Prince and a more 'Judeo Christian' faith. Prince's gifts and talents stay with him.

It doesn't 'go' anywhere. It ceases to be produced.

The new world is biblical. JW's are wrong about only 144 thousand getting in. We all get in, maybe.

Paul writes that Heaven and earth will be one. We do not go to heaven, we go to the new earth.

A good Bible scholar to look for is Peter Enns. He says the Bible is wisdom literature, not actual truth. Wisdom with Godly inclings.

The Holy Spirit is who teaches the lay person. You ask the HS for guidance.

Look at the Ten Commandments: Thou Shalt Not Kill? Really? How about animals? flies? People? Is selling fatty food murder? Cigs?

Thou shalt not lie. What if Nazis want to know where the Jews are hid? Do you tell them the truth?

I always appreciate your posts, but this really doesn't address my question of where does the talent go when someone dies. Just something to riff on, mostly.

.

Their talent goes with them and remains with us because it is not tangible, real, but not tangible.

.

The facts of what happens to a person after death are not determined by the opinions of living. We all have our beliefs on this and they all differ. Between the athiest view and the Mormon view it can be anywhere between nowhere to a universe where Prince is its god. I don't believe either.

.

As to what happens here: Prince's talent goes on in how it gives pleasure etc to those who listen and remember and pass it on. It goes on in how it inspires others in their music and performances. As with scientists, musicians stand on the shoulders of giants and Prince is one of the giants.

The talent is on loan. Everyone has talent, they just have it buried for whatever reasons. Music and other talents are mysterious. I could never ever play an instrument well, no matter how long. Don't have the patience for it. I will try to hold chord and blah. lol

Cornel West has said music is the most spiritual talent.

I guess it depends on you belief system.

I believe will keep our essence/soul when we transition and we likely, IMO, shed our earthly

traits and talents. They are no longer 'ours' nor are they necessary. It's a different plane.

I thought the 144k get to go to heaven, everyone else sleeps until the new earth then they get to live there. I would assume your talent goes where it goes when you're asleep when there's no one to witness it.

The rest you're talking about Imma leave alone. I think the books of Solomon are helpful with all that when it comes to extremes and all.

Prince is with us but I bet he has let go of the 'stuff' we worry about.
