Just looking for even one platform policy. I know there are Trump supporters and republicans here

Here's their official platform

https://ballotpedia.org/T...form,_2020

Which mostly just says "create jobs" and "battle Covid19"

Not much in the way of POLICIES though. Some of these are hilarious (bolded). I especially like the ones about exposing dirty money from the guy that won't show us his tax returns and the part about thinking that Antifa is an organization.

JOBS

  • Create 10 Million New Jobs in 10 Months

  • Create 1 Million New Small Businesses

  • Cut Taxes to Boost Take-Home Pay and Keep Jobs in America

  • Enact Fair Trade Deals that Protect American Jobs

  • 'Made in America' Tax Credits

  • Expand Opportunity Zones

  • Continue Deregulatory Agenda for Energy Independence

ERADICATE COVID-19

  • Develop a Vaccine by The End Of 2020

  • Return to Normal in 2021

  • Make All Critical Medicines and Supplies for Healthcare Workers in The United States

  • Refill Stockpiles and Prepare for Future Pandemics

HEALTHCARE

  • Cut Prescription Drug Prices

  • Put Patients and Doctors Back in Charge of our Healthcare System

  • Lower Healthcare Insurance Premiums

  • End Surprise Billing

  • Cover All Pre-Existing Conditions

  • Protect Social Security and Medicare

  • Protect Our Veterans and Provide World-Class Healthcare and Services

EDUCATION

  • Provide School Choice to Every Child in America

  • Teach American Exceptionalism

DRAIN THE SWAMP

  • Pass Congressional Term Limits

  • End Bureaucratic Government Bullying of U.S. Citizens and Small Businesses

  • Expose Washington’s Money Trail and Delegate Powers Back to People and States

  • Drain the Globalist Swamp by Taking on International Organizations That Hurt American Citizens

DEFEND OUR POLICE

  • Fully Fund and Hire More Police and Law Enforcement Officers

  • Increase Criminal Penalties for Assaults on Law Enforcement Officers

  • Prosecute Drive-By Shootings as Acts of Domestic Terrorism

  • Bring Violent Extremist Groups Like ANTIFA to Justice

  • End Cashless Bail and Keep Dangerous Criminals Locked Up until Trial

END ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION AND PROTECT AMERICAN WORKERS

  • Block Illegal Immigrants from Becoming Eligible for Taxpayer-Funded Welfare, Healthcare, and Free College Tuition

  • Mandatory Deportation for Non-Citizen Gang Members

  • Dismantle Human Trafficking Networks

  • End Sanctuary Cities to Restore our Neighborhoods and Protect our Families

  • Prohibit American Companies from Replacing United States Citizens with Lower-Cost Foreign Workers

  • Require New Immigrants to Be Able to Support Themselves Financially

INNOVATE FOR THE FUTURE

  • Launch Space Force, Establish Permanent Manned Presence on The Moon and Send the First Manned Mission to Mars

  • Build the World’s Greatest Infrastructure SystemWin the Race to 5G and Establish a National High-Speed Wireless Internet Network

  • Continue to Lead the World in Access to the Cleanest Drinking Water and Cleanest Air

  • Partner with Other Nations to Clean Up our Planet’s Oceans

AMERICA FIRST FOREIGN POLICY

  • Stop Endless Wars and Bring Our Troops Home

  • Get Allies to Pay their Fair Share

  • Maintain and Expand America’s Unrivaled Military Strength

  • Wipe Out Global Terrorists Who Threaten to Harm Americans

  • Build a Great Cybersecurity Defense System and Missile Defense System

DEFEND AMERICAN VALUES

  • Continue nominating constitutionalist Supreme Court and lower court judges

  • Protect unborn life through every means available

  • Defend the freedoms of religious believers and organizations

  • Support the exercise of Second Amendment rights

spit

So they want to wipe out global terrorists that threaten America, but not their ‘homegrown domestic terrorists ‘ that’s just been confirmed is America’s deadliest threat? Interesting how they blame everyone else.

Literally, the only logical reason I can think of that people might vote for him is because they've become addicted to the reality show that he runs from the White House. Every day there's drama, headlines, personal attacks etc..etc... I think some people revel in the drama of it all. Let's be honest, Biden isn't going to create the worldwide headlines that Trump has.

Well that’s a stupid reason to vote for him, but if they don’t get the message by now, that trump only cares about himself and how many cameras he could keep on him, then they’re more delusional than he is.

Absolutely, I totally agree. And it is real, his presidency affects everyone, it isn't a reality show.

You should not vote Republican, but from what I can see outside the USA here's what they offer that the Dems do not:

* A leadership who listen to the electorate, and who are willing to be pushed into where their base are. No matter how crazy or racist. They will break the law fighting for you if they have to.

* A leadership who recognise that America is not a good place right now and it needs to be fixed.

* Less lies about American intervention worldwide. Yes, there will be wars and yes there will be deaths, and this is the cost of American domination and wealth in the country. Might makes right.

* A voice for the aggrieved poor white voter who is sick of being told they are privileged, even as they are losing their jobs and houses and all their friends are dying from opiod addictions. There will be no change to their position but they can find that out later.

* If you are rich you will be taxed less, and the richer you are the less you are taxed.

* For the conservative Christian, a Judicial branch loaded in their favour.

* For the climate change denier: never ending denial.

* Guns, guns, guns, guns, guns, guns, guns.

I think he does play into the ignorance of a specific segment of his supporters—his white supremacist/white nationalists supporters’, false sense of superiority. Why? Because trump solidifies their ignorant, and false sense of superiority, and their ignorant beliefs and hatred towards people of color. They see him as their savior, and ‘keeping those people in their place’, and making sure they don’t progress economically or politically better than Whites. They see him as their strength and ‘maintaining’ the majority, and their voice. I believe that’s also why so many White, elected repubs stay silent about Trump’s actions as well. He says what they’re afraid to say out loud. Many of them already fear the browning of America and hoping trump finds a way through immigration, to prevent it from happening. So they don’t care what he does wrong, as long as he stays ‘their’ president.

In the end, all he wants is their vote and doesn’t really give a sh*t about them, but they can’t see that, and that’s why it was so easy for trump to con them.

*ahem*

So....uh....anyways. I heard there was rather sharp, off color language being tossed around here in this thread so let me be the first to say "fuck that shit in the ass with a cock".

Get that out of the way at least. And lets mind out language moving forward so as not offend anyone.

smile

Now, back on track, it appears that the GOP platform I should look at and consider is...uh...hmmm...let's see...

*grabs reading glasses*

*checks notes*

Gun rights, abortion restrictions, lower taxes and...uh...something something "freedom" so, uh... yeah.

OK, sure.

Nope.

Still not going for it.

Any other GOP voters want to sell me on something?

I know they're here.

Bump...

So...this came up in the Presidential Election thread where some of the usual suspects are shooting off their mouths and obfuscating things. Things like facts. Not one of them posted here or answered this very simple question. Very easy and topical on point question. I was hoping someone could weigh in and sell me on not voting the way I did but...

*crickets*

Six weeks later and not ONE person here has a SINGLE platform/issue I should rally behind? No one? ONE THING? ONE PERSON? Come on. I know some people here are voting GOP bu WHY? At least mention something about taxes, bibles, cops or guns or whatever it is you vote over....But no one will post...

Sad. Low energy. Very sleepy. My thread has low ratings. My thread is a loser who hates America.

No you did fine. *high five* Most of that stuff, though, is why abject shitheads vote GOP. Not why I should.

I don't see anything here I like. The only ones that come close are 2 and 3 so i'll cede #2 since both party's foreign policy sucks and are prettys shitty.

But #3...OK..."America Needs Fixing" is something I can agree with but not in the way that these people seem to think (hang liberals, more Jesus everywhere, no healthcare, mandatory flag worship, outlaw abortion, lock up reporters, more guns, etc.).

I already know why they appeal to their base. Because their base is mostly mean spirited assholes who like voting for other mean spirited assholes just as long as there are tiny flags, bibles and fireworks to go with it all.

I'm very interested in hearing from an actual GOP/Trump voter who looks around after the last 4 years and goes "yep...let's keep doing more of this shit. MAGA!" and who might even try to explain why they think this way. I at least expected to hear something about the economy or the stock market.

3. people have to be very open to hearing information

Personally, I am not really in favor of the Republican platform. I am more of a centrist or maybe

Libertarian.

  • I just want adults to be responsible for themselves, to support themselves and their children
  • I don' want my tax dollars going to high-end military stuff nor adults who should be working.
  • I want my tax dollars used carefully. Both sides throw the money around
  • I am in favor of gun control
  • I want the environment protected
  • I do favor much of what the Democratic party stands for except their infantilization of their base. I live in CA and my taxes are sky-high.
  • I am tired of supporting 30 y/o's who should be working.
  • I am tired of the whining of the Democratic base.

Herb4?

I would say, don't look to be sold on the Democratic or Republican party (overall) if you choose not to vote, that is definately a choice. Or if you choose to vote a 3rd party, look into other parties in your local state/city/county that might reflect more closely to your ideals.

Disagree, if you want people to vote for you then offer them something. One of Hillary's many mistakes was taking votes for granted. Biden is doing the same, betting that a hatred of Trump will be enough to scrape by, we'll find out.

Dems, in particular progressives, need to check their arrogance and perhaps try to truly find out why

so many folks, (not just gun-toting rednecks) are sympathetic to Trump.

Polls were way-off...another indicator of an out-of-touch party.

I voted for for Biden because my default is the environment, but I feel frustration with Identity politics and the leftist assault from media outlets I once trusted.

I don't feel seen by the current 'democratic' party...the goal posts have been moved way left.

.

Whilst it not the method used to determine who is president, the popular vote does indicate which party is more in or out of touch. By the popular vote the party that has lost the popular vote more often is the republicans.

.

Since 1976 the Democrats have been more in touch as measured by the number of Presidental votes in 8 of the last twelve elections: 1976, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020. The less in touch republicans only got more populare votes in 1980, 1984, 1988 and 2004.

.

If you look at shifts: The republicans were more popular in 3 of the first 4 elections in this period and only once more in the next 8 elections - and this one was largely off the back of 9/11.

.

As an outside observer, the shift has been to the right not the left and the Democratic rejection of Bernie Sanders twice in the last two presidential shows how the goal posts have not shifted left.
