Jacob Blake - Shot point blank 7 x in the back by Police

...in front of his children who were in the car he was entering at the time.

For the love of God sad another one? And the protests go on.... as they should

Jacob Blake paralyzed after Kenosha police shooting, family and attorney say
https://www.washingtonpos...-shooting/

KENOSHA, Wis. — This city continued grappling on Tuesday with the aftermath of a police shooting that spurred damaging demonstrations, refocused the American summer of unrest here and reverberated across the country.

Police in Kenosha shot Jacob Blake, a 29-year-old, multiple times in the back on Sunday as he entered a car with his children inside. The incident was recorded on video footage that quickly went viral, becoming the latest in a string of shootings and other uses of force by police that prompted outrage after recordings spread widely.

Blake was said to be in serious condition after the shooting. Benjamin Crump, an attorney representing Blake’s family, tweeted on Tuesday afternoon that Blake is “currently paralyzed from the waist down. Praying it’s not permanent.” Blake’s father also told the Chicago Sun-Times that he was paralyzed after the shooting.

Even as unrest in Kenosha prompted the governor to declare a stage of emergency and the shooting was invoked by demonstrators nationwide — with a wave of protests across the country on Monday night, some of them also leading to property damage — scant details remained about exactly what happened.

Sigh.. I saw that video yesterday, and couldn’t believe what I saw. The cop was holding onto to the back of his t-shirt, as he walked behind him to his car, and all Jacob did was lean inside his car and the cop just started shouting him in the back. There were other cops right there by the cop, who was holding onto Jacob, so I don’t get why they shot him. His 3 kids were in the back of the car, and saw the cop shoot their father.

He’s now paralyzed from the waist down, having multiple surgeries, shattered vertebrae, holes in his stomach, and had his colon removed, during surgery. By that vid, he posed no threat to any of those cops, when he got shot.

I heard there was another Black guy shot by a cop, in a different incident the same way, but he died from the gunshots.

Makes no sense to shoot him the way they did, and in front of his children. We have not heard the explanation yet... but I will say this, he is alive and the family is lawyered up.

People need to peacefully protest and VOTE.

Good on his mother.

blimey, it's too late for this year, but maybe the shooter will get a prominent spot in the next GOP convention

Has anyone tried unplugging the United States and plugging it back in?

What do you mean maple? Jacob wasn’t protesting, he was breaking up a fight that he saw with 2 women. Why the cops had an encounter with him is the question. The police officers at the scene didn’t have body cameras, so there’s an investigation as to what occurred, before the officer followed him to the car, and then shot him point blank in the back 7 times.

It's really sickening.
But all the more important to show what kind of psychopaths teh USA is putting out in the streets to "protect and serve"
Don't these people get tested mentally before they get a badge and gun???
These racist powerhungry nutcases get to roam freely in your neighborhoods with a gun!!!
Sorry to say this and sad that i think this way but I would truly understand it if individuals would pick up guns and started shooting cops just to prevent there children getting murdered.

Yes, the Jacob Blake video is horrific. This was some guy with a gun last night, allegedly there with a group of men with guns to protect a petrol station. He shot a protester in the head and then shot two more protesters than chased him down. Two are dead. The shooter only looks about 16.

Allegedly he was with this group. His name is Kyle Rittenhouse:

So Americans can’t protest anymore. Wtf is this country coming to? First of all, they’re not police, and they have no business shooting at protesters. I believe some of these so-called militia are just using the protests to have a reason to kill protesters. Don’t agree with any rioting and burning down businesses, but when you have citizens taking up guns to handle those involved causing damage, then you have an even bigger problem, because regardless, they are not law enforcement.

Secondly, there’s the problem with boogaloo, and other other groups who infiltrate recent protests, being part of the rioting/looting, knowing the blame will always go on all protesters, BLM supporters or residents of said communities.

Watching this from across the pond it's crazy. The police gave the shooter and his armed friends water and thanked them for what they were doing (video on social media - this happened before they shot the protesters). They should have just sent these far-right fuckwits home. What did they think would happen when hundreds of people with guns, recruited through right-wing websites, faced-off with unarmed protesters?

This is exactly what I mean. Innocent protesters will get killed regardless, possibly defending others. I get that people want to protect their communities, but citizens taking up guns to shoot at/kill protesters is a crime, as well as anyone rioting and looting.

I’m pretty sure trump will use that to promote his bs. All this does is encourage members of hate groups to join in and use their biases to kill, and use the excuse they were protecting the community.

They’re still ignoring it. It is no surprise it’s to a boiling point because, police brutality is not taken seriously or it would not continue. Bad cops are not held accountable, and too many have gotten away with murder. M

Now I will not be surprised if they find some excuse to not charge/convict Jacob’s shooter. The man has kidney, liver damage, and holes in his stomach, with multiple surgeries, and paralyzed from the waist due, and will not be able to walk again. He wasn’t armed, isn’t a terrorist, yet that cop chose to shoot him in the back 7 times, in front of his kids. And some don’t understand why many protest against police brutality? Smh.

Absolutely.

So basically some of the armed militia and armed citizens who joined them, took it upon themselves to police, but that just makes things worse if confrontations break out with protesters. There is a 17 year old who is in custody, and he’s been charged with 1st degree murder.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/...index.html
Illinois teen arrested in fatal shooting at Kenosha protest, police say
By Christina Maxouris, Alisha Ebrahimji and Eric Levenson, CNN

(CNN)A 17-year-old Illinois resident connected to an overnight shooting during a protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin, was taken into custody Wednesday morning, according to police in Antioch, Illinois.

Antioch Police said Wisconsin authorities issued an arrest warrant charging Kyle Rittenhouse with first-degree intentional homicide. He is in the custody of the Lake County Judicial System pending an extradition hearing to transfer custody of him from Illinois to Wisconsin.

Antioch is located about 15 to 20 miles from Kenosha, just across the state border.

The arrest comes less than a day after two people were killed and a third was seriously wounded in a shooting in Kenosha during a protest over the police shooting of Jacob Blake, police said.

(Edited for compliance)

“Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth similarly pushed back against armed citizens who he said had asked to be deputized.
"What happened last night is probably the perfect reason why I wouldn't," he said. "They are a liability to me and the county and the state of Wisconsin."
He said people carrying large guns on Kenosha streets create confrontation and hurt law enforcement.”

Interesting how the righties accuse BLM protesters of being terrorists, yet here it is that 17 year old stood with a militia group, in Kenosha and murdered protesters with an AR-15. Now charged with 1st degree intentional murder. Let’s see if Trump will condemn hi for what he did. That was the guy seen in the ground pointing his gun at a protester. Hope that murderer serves life in prison. Wonder if the person who organized that militia group will be held accountable as well.

What’s shocking is the shooter was walking towards police vehicles with the AR-15 exposed with his hands up, waving to cops, walking past/towards a number of police vehicles, even walking close to them, and they just yelled get out of the way, and just drove away from him., and he just moved to the side, and even put his hands on his gun. WTF?

You see it in the video within the article. How come they didn’t shoot him??? He could have shot more people. Smh

UPDATE:

https://www.insider.com/k...ops-2020-8

Kyle Rittenhouse — the teen charged with murder after shooting 3 Kenosha protesters with an AR-15 — was obsessed with Blue Lives Matter and appeared 'on edge' before shots rang out

“Kyle Rittenhouse, 17, was arrested Wednesday on first-degree murder charges after he shot three protesters — two of whom have died — in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on Tuesday night, The New York Times and USA Today reported.

The teenager, who was armed with an AR-15, is from Antioch, Illinois, and crossed state lines to stand guard outside businesses during unrest stemming from the police shooting of Jacob Blake days earlier.

He was taken into custody in and will be charged with first-degree intentional homicide, USA Today's Nick Penzenstadler tweeted.”
[Edited 8/26/20 12:38pm]

(Edited for compliance)

In one video, Rittenhouse is seen running through a crowd of people in a street. One person appears to yell "That guy shot someone." He trips and falls, and, as several people move close to him, he's seen opening fire.

Directly following the second shooting, a group of police vehicles advances on the crowd. Rittenhouse walks toward them and can be seen alternately putting his hands up and touching his gun. As he approaches, the vehicles drive away and Rittenhouse gives them a slight wave.

Footage of the incident was posted on Twitter by Brendan Gutenschwager, a videographer who regularly films protests.

Right wing media is pushing the shootings last night as:

The person who was shot at a car dealership: "Property owners protecting their property"
The kid who shot protesters: "Armed citizen who was there to help protect other people's properties."

This thread on twitter is WELL worth the read. It explains how black lives are always vilified, up to and including antifa:

Antioch is located about 15 to 20 miles from Kenosha, just across the state border. The arrest comes less than a day after two people were killed and a third was seriously wounded in a shooting in Kenosha during a protest over the police shooting of Jacob Blake, police said. (Edited for compliance) “Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth similarly pushed back against armed citizens who he said had asked to be deputized. "What happened last night is probably the perfect reason why I wouldn't," he said. "They are a liability to me and the county and the state of Wisconsin." He said people carrying large guns on Kenosha streets create confrontation and hurt law enforcement.” [Edited 8/26/20 12:37pm]

That kid who was firing at people was not protecting anyting. I believe he is charged with murder now.

They’re so full of shit. According to witnesses, was standing with armed militia, earlier during the protests, and walked away alone, and started shooting at protesters.

In the vid you could see him walking towards police vehicles, with his hands up and ar-15 attached to his body, after he killed 2 people and injured a third, and even walked up to a police vehicle while armed, and all they said to him was move out of the way. Then he just moved back, but then proceeded to put his hands on his weapon again when he backed away from police vehicle.

People were shouting to the police, that he shot some people, and the police did nothing the whole time he was walking towards/past police cars.d

You can see just about all of it, in the link I posted below. It shows him killing someone. So many people saw him walking with that weapon, and was trying to stop him from shooting. That’s why they were following him, but he shot at them.

Had he been Black, and was walking towards those police cars like that, with a weapon on his body, they would have shot him up like a rag doll. The people defending him reminds me of how Dylan Roof was treated to a meal when arrested, after assassinating 9 African-Americans in a church. Unbelievable.
