The novel coronavirus/COVID-19 is serious and deadly, not only due to the severity of the illness that it produces, but also because it is highly contagious and often spreads undetected.

"Coronavirus autopsies: A story of 38 brains, 87 lungs and 42 hearts"

By Ariana Eunjung Cha

The Washington Post

July 1, 2020

Source: https://www.washingtonpos...-findings/

"When the pandemic hit the United States in late March, many hospital systems were too overwhelmed trying to save lives to spend too much time delving into the secrets of the dead. But by late May and June, the first large batch of reports — from patients ranging in age from 32 to 90 years who died at a half-dozen institutions — were published in quick succession. The investigations have confirmed some of our early hunches of the disease, refuted others — and opened up new mysteries about the pathogen that has killed more than 500,000 people worldwide.

Among the most important findings, consistent across several studies, is confirmation the virus appears to attack the lungs the most ferociously. They also found the pathogen in parts of the brain, kidne...lial cells that line blood vessels, as some had previously suspected. Researchers also found widespread clotting in many organs."

Yep. Deadly. Particularly in third world countries and the United States.

It’s deadly but can be tamed. It’s the combination of the virus and either lack of resources or the virus and abject stupidity that makes it so dangerous.

Imagine having all the resources but still having 23% of the global deaths but only 4% of the global population.

SHAME! 🤬

Covid-19 and the divine chastisement of Florida

By Brian E. Muhammad Staff Writer @globalpeeks | Last updated: Jul 19, 2020 - 10:42:31 AM

What's your opinion on this article?

"But those who were unjust changed the word which had been spoken to them, for another saying, so We sent upon the wrongdoers a pestilence from heaven, because they transgressed."

—Holy Qur'an 2:59

The sunshine state of Florida has become the global epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic. The Florida Department of Health reported a shocking single day spike of 15,300 new Covid-19 cases on July 12 which is the highest single day number of new cases reported by any state since the pandemic began.

The previous single day record was also set by Florida on July 4 with an unprecedented 11,434 new cases logged, according to data from John Hopkins University. At Final Call presstime there were over 285,811 infected people statewide and more than 4,241 deaths and escalating in the state.

There was a rise of Covid-19 cases in nearly 50 states, but the worst hit was Florida. The sharp rise of cases dramatically began July 4 after a pronouncement from the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam in a worldwide public address that aired on the same day called "The Criterion."

Minister Farrakhan said, he called on God to intervene in Florida as a center of U.S. geopolitical opposition to Cuba—which developed effective treatments for Covid-19 that are being blocked from use in the U.S. because of sanctions and inordinate influence of Florida- based Cuban opposition groups.

"Florida are you becoming the epicenter of this virus?" Minister Farrakhan rhetorically asked. "I asked God for that," he added. "That I asked Him for, while Florida was white all the way around (low infection rates). Now you're deep red."

The Minister called on God's intervention because only 90 miles south of Florida, Cuba has a therapy that helped China clear the virus from the city of Wuhan and its wider province where the coronavirus was first discovered.

The Minister explained further, he called for the increase because of those that "ran out or were run out" of Cuba, who were members of the Jewish community who lost everything during the Cuban Revolution in the late 1950s.

He said their hatred for the late Cuban leader Fidel Castro has caused America to be blind.

The republic of Cuba has been under an economic embargo by the U.S. government for nearly 60 years since the Cuban revolution that overthrew the American backed dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista in 1959. Over the years other countries have called for the U.S. to end its embargo which has caused hardship in the island nation.

Last year marked 28 consecutive years that that the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution calling for and end to the economic, commercial, and financial embargo imposed by the U.S. against Cuba. Brazil, Israel and the U.S. voted against the resolution. Ukraine and Columbia abstained from the vote. The 15 members of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) highlighted Havana's support to the region. Cuba has deployed medical professionals to distressed areas, including those affected by natural disasters, among other initiatives, noted UN News.

"I'm about to ask the government: Relieve our brothers and sisters in Cuba the unjust burden of your embargo," said Min. Farrakhan. "Mr. Trump: release Cuba because we want our Cuban doctors to look after us. We don't trust you," the Muslim leader continued.

A non peer-reviewed 300 word editorial that has not been published and likely will never be published whose sole reason for existing is so people like you can use the veneer of legitimacy that web portal lends to spread spurious accusations. Even if you take it seriously it debunks itself when it says To produce these viruses within a cell, it is necessary that the wavelength of external waves be shorter than the size of the cell, which is not possible.

Listen, i'm sympathetic to the deep-state being a real thing, and that governments and corporations, if they are not held to account, will happily make decisions that they know will kill people, if it benefits them and there are no short-term repercussions... but i'm not buying the COVID/5G conspiracies, sorry man. I'd need an actual smoking gun.

Obviously it can be deadly. Obvioualy. But risk assessment seems to have gone out the window. You have a whole load of people at home puffing away on cigarettes, or eating shit, or drinking too much, who are terrified of something that statistically is so unlikely to kill them compared to what they are doing to themselves. Take precautions and be sensible, of course. Especially if you or your loved ones have underlying conditions. But also remember how to assess risk.

The risk is not just about getting COVID, but having ANY type of emergency condition at ANY age or in any health and not being able to get help because the hospitals are at capacity.

.

As of right now, only a low two digit percentage of the population has contracted COVID in the most populated cities, and only about 5% of total world population has contracted it, so even if you think herd immunity is the way to go, we are far from the end.
.

Assesing risk means seeing the ENTIRE picture not just what you can see in your own bubble. Or more typically what people regurgitate from their biased social media feeds. Everything sadly becomes politicized or enters tribe mentality. Even basic common sense.

Hospital must choose who's "sent home to die" amid pandemic
Li Cohen 7 hrs ago

A judge representing a Texas county on the U.S.-Mexico border said a local hospital has been forced to choose "who is sent home to die" as resources run thin due to the coronavirus pandemic. The county, which has a population of roughly 64,700 people, has just one hospital to treat what one official called "an exponential" spike in coronavirus cases.

"Unfortunately, Starr County Memorial Hospital has limited resources and our doctors are going to have to decide who receives treatment, and who is sent home to die by their loved ones," Starr County Judge Eloy Vera wrote on the county's Facebook page on Thursday morning. "This is what we did not want our community to experience. ... We must be responsible for ourselves and our loved ones."

Vera said he plans to issue a shelter-in-place order, but stressed that it is "only as good as we make it."

Dr. Jose Vasquez of the Starr County Health Authority announced during a press conference on Tuesday that the local hospital is establishing an ethics committee that will set up a triage program to decide how to best allocate limited resources.

"The reality is that science and statistics are against those people with multiple medical conditions," he said. "We have to start making a triage evaluation and realizing who has a better chance. For all of those patients who most certainly do not have any hope of improving, we believe that they are going to be better taken care of within their own family in the love of their own home, rather than thousands of miles away dying alone in a hospital room."

Vasquez said that when the pandemic began, the county was able to keep the situation under control. But after the state started to reopen, Vasquez said, cases increased "in an exponential and alarming way."

On July 1, the county had 642 cases of coronavirus, according to state data. On Thursday, there were 1,519 cases.

Vera said the area is "seeing the results of socialization during the 4th of July, vacations, and other social opportunities."

There are 28 patients in the county's COVID care unit, three of whom are on ventilators and life support, Vasquez said.

"This is unsustainable," he said. "Texas and the neighboring states have no available ICU beds to spare for us."

The hospital has been transferring people out of the area on a daily basis, Vasquez told CBS affiliate KGBT-TV.

"There are days worse than others. During the weekend we had 6-7 transfers via helicopter in other places in the state, but every day there are 2 to 3 transfers through helicopter at least," he said.

The vast majority of Starr's residents are Hispanic or Latino, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, and roughly 33% of residents live in poverty. Nearly 30% of the county's residents who are under the age of 65 do not have health insurance.

On Sunday, Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced that the U.S. Department of Defense has deployed five U.S. Navy teams to four locations in south and southwest Texas, including Starr County Memorial.

"If you love your family... by all means, stay at home. Don't go out unless you absolutely have to," Vera said at the press conference. "We are literally in a life or death situation."

"The number of cases we have seen in the emergency room are growing every day. Fifty percent of the cases we see in the emergency room are COVID-positive with COVID-related symptoms," Vasquez added. "The situation is desperate. We cannot continue functioning in the Starr County Memorial Hospital in the way things are going."

They lost their mom and dad to coronavirus -- 15 days apart

Two young brothers from Houston said goodbye to their mother at the beginning of July, not knowing their father would also die 15 days later and for the same reason.

Their mother Noehmi Esquivel, 39, and their father Carlos Garcia, 44, both died after fighting the coronavirus, the family confirmed to CNN.

Load Error

Esquivel was taken to the hospital on July 2, and ended up dying the same day, her brother, Jacob Mendoza, told CNN.

"My mom spoke to her and told her that it was okay for her to go home ... and not to worry about Carlos and the boys," Mendoza said.

"[She] prayed over her in Jesus name and she passed away over the phone with my mom talking to her."

Then, just 11 days later, her husband, Carlos, landed in the hospital because of kidney problems. His family said he was recovering from coronavirus and it aggravated medical problems he was already having.

"He was barely recuperating ... [but] when he went into the hospital, he was doing well," Mendoza said.

On July 17, his fourth day in the hospital, Mendoza said Garcia's condition unexpectedly worsened.

"We had just gotten off the phone with him, and he sounded perfectly fine. He sounded like there was nothing wrong with him. And it surprised us when we got the call around one o'clock in the morning that he had passed away," he said.

Both Esquivel and Garcia had diabetes and other underlying conditions.

"It has just been very rough on us, because both of them, you know, they both had to die in the hospital by themselves because of this whole coronavirus pandemic," Mendoza said.

Now, both of their sons Nathan, 12, and Isaiah, 14, will have to live with Mendoza and his wife. The family has set up a GoFundMe page to help with the boys' living expenses and the community has rallied around them in their loss.

"At least, since he [my father] passed, we get to be with our family," Isaiah Garcia told CNN affiliate KTRK. "We don't have to go to an orphanage or anything. I'd rather be here than anywhere else right now."

His father's funeral is on Tuesday at The Promise Church of Houston.
