Whilst trump and Pence spruik the myth that there are good numbers whilst not saying what these numbers are, here is sobering thought:

.

The sum of new cases in just the two worst countries in handling Covid19, USA and Brazil, is higher than the average infections per day in last month across the whole of the world. And the common feature in this abject failure - the ineptitude, divisiveness and dishonesty of their presidents

Trump called the recent increase in cases today in a tweet "embers" or "flare-ups".
In 3 months, South Carolina had 13,453 cases from 3/6/20 through 6/5/20. In 3 weeks (6/5/20 through 6/26/20), our cases have increased by 16,810. That is NOT an ember or flare-up. Three months to reach 13,000+ cases, 3 weeks to reach 30,000+.

Coronavirus deaths are way down. Mortality rate is one of the lowest in the World. Our Economy is roaring back and will NOT be shut down. “Embers” or flare ups will be put out, as necessary!

We are 8th, worldwide, with highest number of deaths per million, out of 215 countries.

The United States recorded an all-time daily high of 40,000 coronavirus infections on Thursday, figures from Johns Hopkins University (JHU) show.

A recent surge in infections and hospitalisations has prompted the states of Texas, Florida and Arizona to pause reopening plans.

Texas's governor ordered bars to close and announced other "targeted measures" on Friday to bring infections down.

Florida announced it was suspending alcohol consumption at its bars.

JHU's previous high of 36,400 was on 24 April when less testing took place.

The US has 2.4 million confirmed infections and 122,370 deaths - more than any other country.

BLM protests have not led to a spike in coronavirus cases: study

Black Lives Matter protests haven’t seen coronavirus cases surge in cities since the massive demonstrations began, a study says.

The new research, which was published by the National Bureau of Economic Research, found no evidence that coronavirus cases jumped in 315 cities in the weeks following the first protests.

Researchers determined that protests may have been offset by an increase in social distancing among those who decided not to march.

Using cellphone data, the study determined that more people opted to stay home “perhaps due to fear of violence from police clashes or general unrest.”

“While it is almost certain that the protests caused a decrease in social distancing behavior among protest attendees, we demonstrate that effect of the protests on the social distancing behavior of the entire population residing in counties with large urban protests was positive,” the report reads.

How about Pence defending the swamp rallies in Tulsa and AZ?

https://www.cnbc.com/2020...cases.html

Vice President Mike Pence defended the Trump campaign’s decision to resume its signature in-person rallies despite a worrying spike ...irus cases.

At a White House coronavirus task force briefing Friday – the group’s first in nearly two months – a reporter asked Pence why the campaign forged ahead with the rallies, which have drawn tens of thousands of President Donald Trump’s supporters in the past.

“The freedom of speech, the right to peaceably assemble, is enshrined in the constitution of the United States,” replied Pence, who leads the task force.

“And we have an election coming up this fall,” he added. “We still want to give people the freedom to participate in the political process, and we respect that.”

His "prayers" for all those affected by the virus are nothing but filthy lies to appeal to the "evangelical" sect - but guess what, jesus-freaks? The virus doesn't care if your are christian or jewish or buddhist or islamic. The onley thing anyone should be praying for is PPE, ventilator, hospital space and those tireless doctors and nurses and hospital workers.... and SCIENCE!!!!

WEAR A MASK!!!!!

99279146_10157534634679506_4780572365958414336_n.jpg?_nc_cat=1&_nc_sid=110474&_nc_ohc=VtdHEf-hjisAX9opyV2&_nc_ht=scontent-lax3-1.xx&oh=43ac833c0ab00a0d9f8e57d9c714bdc9&oe=5F1B7C4A
Enrique G. Murillo Jr.

Here you go folks... for those people who don't understand what it means to be on a ventilator but want to take the chance of going out without a mask...

For starters, it's NOT an oxygen mask put over the mouth while the patient is comfortably lying down and reading magazines. Ventilation for Covid-19 is a painful intubation that goes down your throat and stays there until you live or you die.

It is done under anesthesia for 2 to 3 weeks without moving, often upside down, with a tube inserted from the mouth up to the trachea and allows you to breathe to the rhythm of the lung machine. The patient can't talk or eat, or do anything naturally - the machine keeps you alive.

The discomfort and pain they feel from this means medical experts have to administer sedatives and painkillers to ensure tube tolerance for as long as the machine is needed. It's like being in an artificial coma.

After 20 days from this treatment, a young patient loses 40% muscle mass, and gets mouth or vocal cords trauma, as well as possible pulmonary or heart complications.

It is for this reason that old or already weak people can't withstand the treatment and die. Many of us are in this boat ... so stay safe unless you want to take the chance of ending up here. This is NOT the flu.

Add a tube into your stomach, either through your nose or skin for liquid food, a sticky bag around your butt to collect the diarrhea, a foley catheter to collect urine, an IV for fluids and meds, an A-line f to monitor your BP that is completely dependent upon finely calculated med doses, teams of nurses, CRNA’s and MA’s to reposition your limbs every two hours and lying on a mat that circulates ice cold fluid to help bring down your 104 degree temp.

-Anyone want to try all that out? Stay home and wear a mask when you go out! Stay safe and well!-

What this article doesn't say, is that the patient can hear everything that is said so if the staff carelessly talks about death, the patient panics. If the sedatives are lessened, the patient panics because he can't breath or talk or, in his case, move. When they begin to lower the pain medications, the patient screams in his head but can't make a sound. When they take out the tubes it's extremely uncomfortable. A trachea may replace the respirator, the patient still can't talk or eat without a tube.

Your child, your spouse, your parent, suffers from covid 19 alone in the hospital. The victims are not limited to strangers. When you choose to crowd, unmasked, into newly opened stores for some irrelevant purchase, ask yourself if it's worth a lifetime of knowing your child suffered, maybe died, alone.

Florida, Arizona, Nevada, South Carolina: All Count Record-Breaking Number Of Coronavirus Infections, Again

Carlie PorterfieldForbes Staff

Health officials in Arizona, Florida, Nevada and South Carolina all reported record-high numbers of new daily Covid-19 cases once again Saturday, as states scramble to cope with surges in Covid-19 infections that have plagued the southern and western U.S. this week.

9,585
new confirmed Covid-19 cases were reported by the Florida Department of Health on Saturday alone, passing up the previous record for most new daily infections set just the day before, the third time this week Florida has broken its record for new cases reported in a day, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Arizona also hit a high point of infections Saturday when the state recorded 3,591 new daily cases, a match of its record set on Tuesday.

Nevada’s state officials confirmed 1,099 new daily cases Saturday, double the previous record of 507 the state counted Thursday, reportedly the fourth record set this week.

In South Carolina, 1,599 new cases were reported Saturday, far higher than the prior record of 1,290 set Tuesday.

The recent spikes in cases have led states like Texas, Florida, Louisiana, North Carolina and Nevada to scale back their reopening plans. Florida, along with Texas, shut down bars statewide Friday in a bid to slow viral transmission. The people testing positive are increasingly young and under the age of 30. The recent increase in infections led Arizona hospitals state-wide to activate surge plans that will increase intake capacity and allow for treatment of more patients.

No significant difference in infection decline in the Netherlands (no masks mandatory, except ONLY for public transport, which also is running on just 10% of it's capacity) or Germany (masks mandatory in shops & public places)

stfu You are not an authority on this virus. There have been countless stories about public gatherings, even private family gatherings where there was no social distancing or MASKS worn and a siginificant amount of people got infected and spread it further.

If it didn't help, then wearing them on public transport in the fucking Netehrlands would not be necessary. rolleyes I suggest you are running on 10% of your capacity.

So?

If you test more, you'll find more.
Like brightening a dimmed light in a dark room: make it brighter, you'll see more.

Question you should ask yourselves: does the number of 'corona deaths' rise in the same ratio?

As far as I can find: No.

But hey... it's well known in here that some of you have difficulties in reading tables and/or graphs. lol lol

To avoid that THEY(!!) don't infect (Bacteria, not virusses!!) the person who's lying on the surgery table and/or contaminate the surgery room.

They have special medical grade, certified masks, which they don't touch and dispose of once they're done/once the time to use them has passed.

These are effective. Scientifically proven to be.

The flimsy china things most of the people wear to protect themselves from getting infected with corona are useless. They aren't sterile and if you wear them for hours, they become hazardous to your own health.

It's fake safety.

Bullshit Tweety. It does help and it does make a difference.

yeahthat Same premise. Reducing the amount of droplets coming from an infected person in a closed environment or up close in an open one.

It's common sense.

Oh, yes, of course.

And then why is there no significant difference in people getting infected between countries in which the masks are mandatory and where they are not?

No significant difference in 2 similar groups = no causality. It's the basic scientific principle.
