Justice Dept under Barr has dropped the case against Flynn, stating they do not believe they can prove the case against Flynn. This ignores the fact that Flynn admitted to everything, struck a plea deal even. I have a feeling that this was done in an attempt to help Trump's re-election, because his base believes that Russia was "nothing but a Democratic hoax". By doing this, Barr is throwing his base a bone, because he knows Trump won't be re-elected on the economy or jobs numbers now, or on his handling of the Covid-19 pandemic. This way they can say, "See? Trump is getting rid of the Deep State, one by one."

Just wait til trump loses, and what he will do to our Nation thru Nov-Jan. We are gonna be so screwed.

i honestly think bill maher is right and hes gonna refuse to leave. argue there were voting inconsistancies and whatever else he can do to pretend he didnt lose

I agree. He knows what part of his base he uses, to rile up and cause an intentional riot, if he loses. Many already see how he praises the part of his base that are nazi types, plays into their racial ignorance and fears. He will demand a recount, because he doesn’t want to give up the power of the presidency. He craves that kind of authority because he abuses it to get what he wants. He has already said he is against voting by mail, because he thinks some votes for him won’t be counted. I will not be surprised if he refuses to leave l, if he loses, whether the election is held the usual way, by mail or online.

And now trump has names one of his cronies as Post Master (from chair of the RNC in NC) - for the first time in decades someone is not being given the job from within the postal service.

Oh, sure. Barr is his bitch and does his bidding. Flynn plead guilty. Makes no sense. Doesn't a jFed udge have to agree to/rule on this?

I honestly don't know if the Fed Judge has to rule on it. But one of the prosecutors on the case has withdrawn:

Brandon Van Grack, a former member of special counsel Robert Mueller's team, moved to withdraw from the Justice Department's prosecution of former national security adviser Michael Flynn on Thursday. He did not provide a reason for his withdrawal.

Why it matters: Van Grack leads a team that has been accused by Flynn's attorneys of prosecutorial misconduct. New FBI documents stemming from Flynn's move to withdraw his 2017 guilty plea have amplified conservative claims that prosecutors sought to entrap the former top Trump aide into lying about his conversations with the former Russian ambassador.

Forgot to put the link: https://www.axios.com/mic...5834f.html

But I still think this was a political move, not a judicial one.

nod Fucking travesty.

Speaking of judges, Kavanaugh is weighing in on the abortion issues before the Supreme Court right now exactly the way Repubs wanted him to.

I agree completely. I think his ultimate wet dream would be a dynasty such as the Kim dynasty, where his next in line gains power when he dies. But the people of America would never allow that - I hope.

Absentee ballots from certain blue districts will just disappear.

^^Let's see if Otrash suddenly falls in love with mail in ballots.

Could be a few other reasons too. Repubs have been trying to dissolve USPS for a couple of decades now. They want the mail system privatized - he could be appointed to sabotage from within. Also, Trump HATES Jeff Bezos and has asked USPS to quadruple their package prices to stick it to Amazon, which is insane. It's all over the internet seller chats.

Bezos should open his own postal service and stick it back to Trump.

Biden has a slight edge on Trump on most polls as of today.

I think it's smart overall for Warren overall to tone it down for now. If not for the VP slot, but future elections.

And it may very well get her the VP slot. But I thought it was asinine the way that movement ignored the reality of what had just transpired in getting Obamacare, It was a grueling hard fought victory that has remained fragile and tenuous ever since with the GOP, the status quo, and unbelievably even the jackasses in progressive movement going after it.

..

Warren pivots on Medicare for All in bid to become Biden's VP

She's pitching herself as a governing partner to Biden, despite their past clashes over policy.

https://www.politico.com/...ent-271938

In the thick of primary season, Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden brawled over Medicare for All: He called her approach “angry,” “elitist,” “condescending”; she shot back anyone who defends the health care status quo with industry talking points is “running in the wrong presidential primary.”

Six months later, with Biden the presumptive nominee and Warren in the running for VP, she is striking a more harmonious chord.

"I think right now people want to see improvements in our health care system, and that means strengthening the Affordable Care Act," she told students at the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics this week, while adding that she still wants to get to single payer eventually
