The prison labor is bad enough. The unfair fear mongering another, but why aren't people being hired to make this? You could pay a living wage. Crazy.

I really don't understand why you have a problem with this? People are being hired. They are being paid. They are providing a service to the community which they can do fast and efficiently. Same in Taiwan where prisoners are making facemasks. Seems fair to me - ready made workforce. Their other work will be outsourced - they weren't sat around doing nothing before.

When I worked in prisons, the hand sanitizer had all been removed as the prisoners were stealing it or drinking it, usually both. lol

Now they get more as a bonus!

.

But seriously, people in prison are people too, with families, moms and dads all at risk. If I had a chance to help, especially in while locked in prison, i would volunteer gladly.

I can't speak for the US, but in the UK no prisoner is forced to work, they just get paid and get extra privileges if they do. For most it helps pass the time.

Yep. To be fair, most prisoners (not all) are not bad people, they just made bad choices. And their families mean the world to them, especially those on long stretches, it's all some of them have. That is why lockdowns end up in riots such as we've seen in Italy, because visits are cancelled. Prisoners have few basic rights - if you take those away from them, then you get trouble.

Okay all, bad choice of words lol. What I mean is often people are caught up in somethng, drink, drugs, gangs, etc... and at a point in time when they should absolutely have walked away, they didn't. And many of them, once clean and away from their home environment, realise that. I'm not giving them a pass in any way from the crimes they committed.

Costco is limiting people from buying up all the toiket paper and hand sanitizers.

Seems sleazy folks who prefer the term "hustlers" were going in and buying it all up and reselling it on Ebay for a big markup.

Yep.

There is a time and place for everything. And in case of a truly grave situation, you will see a lot more of this, But we are still a functional society. No need to become Mad. Max scavengers at the drop of a hat.

Of course, happens every time. Small store owners do the same thing.

Last time I was in Costco they were basically limiting the in-demand stuff to 2 per person.

Question is, does the limit apply to each store? Or can someone go to 3 different Costcos and buy 2 at each store?

And is the limit just per day? Or can they go back the next day and buy 2 more?

Hopefully it's 2 per WEEK, and covers all Costco stores combined.

Most people in prison are non violent drug users.
In Australia they are disproportionately black/indigenous, and the majority are women.
The most incarcerated people on earth are indigenous Australians, for non-violent offences. (2,440 prisoners per 100,000 adult Aboriginal population, compared to 216 prisoners per 100,000 non-Aboriginal population)

This conversation is ‘slave master-ish’ as some of you are really excited. Too excited.
Calm down.

Note, these liberals or moderates sing a very different tune when it comes to their “own”.

What do police officers do after a long day of putting drug users in jail?

They go get high.

https://www.google.com.au...possession

”The 2GB radio broadcasters Ray Hadley has spoken of his shock and sadness after his police officer son was charged with drug possession after allegedly trying to buy cocaine from dealer.”

These police officers will chase poor black people for drugs down the street.
They will run around white people who are high on drugs as they leave trendy bars and restaurants.

Poor people don’t own boats and planes.
Poor people aren’t importing the drugs.
The same people who own boats and planes also own the prisons.
The same people also write the legislations for corporations who are in search of “Human Resources”
