Do not Trust anyone who advocates for any form of "Medicare for All" or "single payer" that is NOT going to have it too for themselves and their families... obama was not at all willing to be on his plan... and we KNOW in 2013 senate democrats lead by harry reid...made it clear that the plans made available through the exchanges were just not good enough and forced a government shutdown. (Of course many lie and say it was the republicans in the senate. But that is par for the Democrat liars course.

No one is coming for your abortion: they just want common-sense abortion regulations: background checks, waiting periods, lifetime limits, take a class, and a small tax.

And coming from a country with a two-tier (public & private) system, let me tell you that that ain't great either. Go big or go home.

it is a right... who said it wasn't? oh you want it to be "free" yeah that tends to come at the cost of quality and availability... certainly one of them would be gone.

not sure I did... not an actual panel... but YES... their would be limits and restriction based on factors such as age or prognosis or a cost recovery analysis... as barack said they would be able to determine if grandma got a pill or an operation... based on the cost vs the assumed effectivness.

Ironicaly...Just now I got a letter saying my daily meds are no longer covered under my plan. Now you will want to say "under obama care it would be..." well no as we are all under obamacare (unless your plan is not subject to being taxed under the plan)

I've been on Obamacare for the last 3-4 years and it's been great, definitely better than having to suck it up and pay a retarded amount of money every month just because I'm self employed.

A lot of people who have good employer-based health care have no idea how much health care can cost if you don't have an employer covering some of the cost of it, and how a lot of self employed folks have to suffer if they don't make enough to pay a ridiculous premium. Obamacare was definitely a step in the right direction.

We know Medicare for all is possible and more and sustainable as many countries have it. The problem we have is an health infrastructure that is so hard set the way it is, that it will be a monumental effort to wedge it inanotjer direction.
It’s doable, it just has to be a concerted approach.

This failed attempt at pedantry is a good indicator of the level of aspiration left in the country that went to the moon. Literally the richest country in the world and you're running scared at the idea of caring for your own people.

Social Security numbers assigned at birth, using the same system we have now. Same as Medicare, just expanded. It's not that hard.

The insurance and drug companies want us to think it's hard because they are middleman leeches on the system. They buy off politicians who voted themselves and their families healthcare for life, with campaign donations.

I think to make it work would need a major overhaul. The fundamental way we tackle health needs to change in every respect.

Expanded Medicare is a stopgap to getting people covered, but we can do much better than anyone if we really wanted.

What fundamental way do you mean? Everyone over 65 is already on Universal Health Care, with or without supplemental insurance. The way to do better is to set drug prices and prices for routine operations like every other westernized country does. This is where the insurance and drug companies make a profit. They bank on nothing being standardized. You can't even find out what a procedure is going to cost before you actually get it (or need it in an emergency).

as I get older and see the doctor more, as I take friends to the doctor and you see the the mess that is healthcare, ...no one in their right mind could say the system we have is good. It's a clusterfuck mess.
