I thought Pres. Obama and Hillary Clinton were polarizing figures in America but they don't have nothing on trump.

-

This guy seems to bring division into EVERY PART OF AMERICAN LIFE. Think about it. From football to the freaking weather, this guy succeeds in dividing this country at every turn. Just because he loves having a ultra competitive, divisive atmosphere at the trump organization, doesn't mean he has to bring that same corrosive atmosphere to the rest of the country. I guess this is what you get when you have a president that's governed by pride and ego.

President Trump lashed out at singer John Legend and his wife, model Chrissy Teigen, on Twitter Sunday night after Legend appeared on MSNBC as part of a special town hall on criminal justice reform hosted by NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt...

The president went on to attack the host of the special in his tweetstorm, complaining that Lester Holt didn’t “even bring up the subject of President Trump or the Republicans when talking about… the importance or passage of Criminal Justice Reform. They only talk about the minor players, or people that had nothing to do with it… And the people that so desperately sought my help when everyone else had failed, all they talk about now is Impeaching President Trump!”

However, during the Dateline episode that preceded the town hall on Sunday night, Holt did explicitly give Trump credit for passing the law, showing footage of him signing the bill in the Oval Office and noting that is “projected to reduce the sentences of thousands of non-violent offenders in federal prisons.” But, the anchor added, “that doesn’t affect more than 90 percent of the U.S. prison population, which is locked up in state and local facilities.”

Chrissy Teigen Laughs Off Trump Calling Her John’s ‘Filthy Mouthed Wife’

-

Teigen somehow caught wind of Trump’s post — even though he blocked her on Twitter in July 2017 — and put her “filthy” mouth to use. “Lol what a p–-y a-s b--ch,” she tweeted. “Tagged everyone but me. an honor, mister president.”

-

The Cravings cookbook author then uploaded a photo of herself sitting on the floor of her living room, making a personalized sign for her 3-year-old daughter Luna’s second year of preschool.

-

“Luna, remember the night before your first day of school?” she wrote. “When mommy was making your sign and the p–sy ass b--ch president had his 9th meltdown of the day.”

-

She added, “The absolute best part of his tweet is I literally didn’t speak in the special, nor was I mentioned. I’m cackling at the pointless addition of me because he cannot not be a b-tch.”

-

Legend, for his part, tweeted, “Imagine being president of a whole country and spending your Sunday night hate-watching MSNBC hoping somebody–ANYBODY–will praise you.”

-

The “All of Me” singer then begged first lady Melania Trump, “Please praise this man. He needs you. Your country needs you, Melania.”

-

The couple, who also share 15-month-old son Miles, later joked about trying to make #PresidentP–syA-sB---h trend on Twitter.

That's interesting. Of course it was all about him - and one-upping Obama. What genius decided talks with the Taliban would be at Camp David on the anniversary of 9/11?? Nuts. Bin Laden is rolling over in his grave, with laughter.

Well - THIS is interesting:

https://www.wonkette.com/...t=kx8ukuo7

There's some fuckery afoot in Donald Trump's Intelligence Community. The fact that Acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph McGuire is burying a whistleblower complaint in blatant violation of the plain wording of federal law would be a massive scandal in any other administration. But here in the Firehose Era, it goes rushing by practically unnoticed.

<snip>

The following day, (House Intelligence Chair Adam) Schiff demanded that McGuire follow the law and cough it up (the allegation from the whistleblower), but McGuire told him he'd been forbidden from complying by a "higher authority."

To which Adam Schiff said, YOU'RE THE DNI, WHO THE FUCK IS HIGHER UP THAN YOU? Or words to that effect:

You have also refused to rule out to me that the urgent concern, and underlying conduct, relates to an area of active investigation by the Committee.

The Committee can only conclude, based on this remarkable confluence of factors, that the serious misconduct at issue involves the President of the United States and/or other senior White House or Administration officials. This raises grave concerns that your office, together with the Department of Justice and possibly the White House, are engaged in an unlawful effort to protect the President and conceal from the Committee information related to his possible "serious or flagrant" misconduct, abuse of power, or violation of law.

And yes, he did put that part in boldface type.

*****************************************************************************

The article goes on to look at the dates surrounding this chain of events - which, do not forget, culminated with the Acting Director of National Intelligence breaking federal law - and they think it has to do with Dan Coats' resignation and the subsequent appointment of Texas "Congressman" John Ratcliffe to succeed him because unrepentant serial adulterer Donald J. Trump thought Ratcliffe looked good in the Mueller testimony.

Oh, and by the way - that appointment or whatever it was, also was a violation of law because unrepentant serial adulterer Donald J. Trump bypassed and then forced out Deputy DNI Sue Gordon, who was designated by statute to become Acting DNI until a permanent replacement could be confirmed by the Senate.

Keep your eyes on this one.

#MAGA

Now he is going up against Cali tyring to force them to roll back environmental standards

Trump Will (try to)End California’s Authority to Set Stricter Auto Emissions Rules

The announcement that the White House will revoke one of California’s signature environmental policies will come while Mr. Trump is traveling in the state, where he is scheduled to attend fund-raisers in Los Angeles and Silicon Valley.

The formal revocation of California’s authority to set its own rules on tailpipe pollution — the United States’ largest source of greenhouse emissions — will be announced Wednesday afternoon at a private event at the Washington headquarters of the Environmental Protection Agency, according to two people familiar with the matter.

A White House spokesman referred questions on the matter to the Environmental Protection Agency. A spokesman for the E.P.A. did not respond to an email requesting comment.

Xavier Becerra, the attorney general of California, wrote in an email: “California will continue its advance toward a cleaner future. We’re prepared to defend the standards that make that promise a reality.”

I guess this thread has another 9 days or so before it locks, so even though it's #MAGA Fall, for now this is it!

In unsurprising #MAGA news, income inequality is now at a 50-year high. As history has inarguably shown us many times over, if you cut taxes on the rich (by themselves OR as part of a tax cut for everyone) then wealth gets concentrated more at the top end of the spectrum.

This is just a plain fact. It's happened EVERY TIME a radical right-wing Republican has cut taxes. Every single time.

Shucks, the only time in the last 50 years where the inequality gap has shrunk was after President Clinton initiated a new, higher top tax rate. That action led to a more even and fair chance at obtaining wealth.

And note, all you radical right-wing Republicans - I didn't say it distributed money downwards. I said it allowed for a chance to earn it. Which is exactly what happened until President Clinton's tax structure. I know you radical right-wing Republicans don't think your non-mouth-breathing breathern actually work and earn stuff. I also know that your definition of "working" includes yelling at the TV all day. But we real Americans do work for a living.

Now - one economist blames this mostly on the concept that the workforce is made up of two main groups - high-earning baby-boomers at the ends of their careers; and Millennials, who don't make any money and spend what they have on vaping. But history doesn't support that. Always believe history.

Anyway, here's the Census report that shows income inequality is the worst it's been in half a century. #MAGA

https://www.apnews.com/bf...14328eea99

The gap between the haves and have-nots in the United States grew last year to its highest level in more than 50 years of tracking income inequality, according to U.S. Census Bureau figures released Thursday.

Income inequality in the United States expanded from 2017 to 2018, with several heartland states among the leaders of the increase, even though several wealthy coastal states still had the most inequality overall, according to the figures.

<snip>

Even though household income increased, it was distributed unevenly, with the wealthiest helped possibly by a tax cut passed by Congress in 2017, said Hector Sandoval, an economist at the University of Florida.

“In 2018, the unemployment rate was already low, and the labor market was getting tight, resulting in higher wages. This can explain the increase in the median household income,” Sandoval said. “However, the increase in the Gini index shows that the distribution became more unequal. That is, top income earners got even larger increases in their income, and one of the reasons for that might well be the tax cut.”

Ugh, what a story. One thing I don't get is this sentence -

Prosecutors said the photos didn’t constitute child pornography and asked for a prison term up to six months, the Post reported. He faced a maximum of five years.

Why would Prosecutors not think this was child pornography? With the caption he wrote with it. Greaaat. He got probation and sex offender classes and reassigned, that sucks.
