How many different ways does it take before people realise this is an absolute failure?

.

Instead of concern for people there is too often just concern for protecting a right or complaining about people dissing the US.

.

It is not just all the mass shootings:

.

It is the number of suicides and accidents with guns.

.

It is the number of times the person killed is a family member or friend.

.

It is the number of times the killing is the only crime and not part of another crime or a protest or insurgency.

.

It is the absolute failure of all those who think their gun makes them safer to stop all the gun violence.

.

It is the complete reluctance, not of the posters in prince.org but of the whole society, especially the elected representatives, to ever seek a solution that addresses the fear, the extremism, the mental health issues, the lack of commonsense in ludicrous stand your ground exchanges etc.

.

It is the glorification of revenge leading people to think they can solve the problem with a gun.

.

It is the intolerance of people that are different.

.

It is how it has changed policing from being to protect and serve to shooting first in case the person is armed.

.

And I can go on.

^ Plus the criminals' motivation is probably skyrocketing after all the recent worldwide media sensationalism. The timing isn't just a coincidence.

This is just an assumption. You know nothing of the mental condition of the person, the planning that was conducted or even the reason or motivation.

Right on all points. And you can forget about elected officials seeking a solution. Like Rodeo posted in another thread, a lot of it has to do with the NRA and how powerful they are,

Unfortunately, this 'gun culture' has been part of the U.S. for hundreds of years.

The shooter - any guesses as to his race/politics? - was killed in less than a minute. By trained law enforcement. And yet...

He killed 9 and wounded 16.

I don’t want to hear any NRA bullshit about good guys with guns. This was the ultimate good guy with a gun scenario and still more than two dozen were killed or wounded.

CNN just had an interview with an official from there and he did mention it was a young white male in his 20's.

The common thread is people with mental health problem with easy access to weapons of mass killings.

We need better laws to address the easy access of these types of weapons and their ammunition.

The fear is that young people are being taken advantage of/recruited, and being brainwashed with racist ideology, just like Islamic jihadists are being brainwashed by religion to carry out acts of hate.

Jane Elliot and Tim Wise have been warning Americans for years, about the dangers of this kind of racist ideology. Not enough people are paying attention, and now look at what’s happening. This is all so terrible. Anyone can be a victim now.

24 year old Connor Betts has been identified as the shooter who was killed by police in the middle of his rampage in Dayton’s downtown area. Police say that Betts was wearing body armor and carried extra ammo as he carried out the assault.

We'll see how accurate this information turns out to be but given what we know about mass murderers and their political affiliations, I'd be surprised if any of the information below is inaccurate:

Connor Betts is 24 years old and was born on 10/28/1994. Currently, Connor lives in Bellbrook, OH. Other names that Connor uses includes Betts Connor and Connor S Betts. Ethnicity is Caucasian; and religious views are listed as Christian. Currently, Connor is married. Member of the Republican Party.

And? Everyone makes assumptions all the time on this forum. No one has the perfect answers.

Why do you keep on targetting the same people in all of your responses?
