Virginia Beach, VA:Another Week Another Mass Shooting

When will it end?

(CNN)A disgruntled employee went on a shooting rampage in a city building in Virginia Beach, Virginia, killing 12 people before he died after a fierce gunbattle with officers.

Friday afternoon's massacre is the deadliest in the Uni... this year, and adds the Virginia coastal city to a grim list of places affected by a mass shooting.

I suspect this thread will fade away quickly as the details of the story do not fit the narrative usually pushed by so many in this forum.

If it fades away, it fades away....

It's becoming so common, people aren't paying as much attention to these occurances.

Bullshit. One case with so-called “liberal” kids and I said to crank that aspect as much as your little hear desired. And now it’s a thing?

Come on, that’s pathetic.

technically the use of a gun is not the problem.

The events that lead up to this is the problem. Disgruntled workers, victims of bullies, people being fired etc will always and have always had this kind of reaction. If it wasn't a gun it would be somethoing else

Craddock did the mass killing with a handgun. Doubt those will be outlawed in our lifetime. Better to solve the broken mental health system that Clinton/Bush/Obama created and it won't happen overnight. If any of you have a problem talk to someone about it. Stigma still exists for people with mental issues. If you feel angry about MAGA talk about it before killing a bunch of common folk.

What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

So, so very true.

Without even clicking anything, I already knew the details of the shooter simply because the usual posters didn't start the thread. confused

Handguns will never go away so we may as well deal with the mental health aspect. Take away gun and he still would find a way to kill, so dealing with that aspect is more important.

Sad... I wonder what the policy was for employees to carry their guns at work?

I disagree. We do not have these mass killings in other western countries with much stricter gun laws.

Why float balloons for the politics or rationale of indiscriminate mass murderers when we should be more concerned about keeping innocent people safe. Who does going down that rabbit hole other than for distraction help keep innocent people from being murdered by simply going to school or work. Why does everything have to go down partisan low-way?

one of the main reason some killers kill so many is becasue guns are banned from that place. A gun free zone are often the taeget of mass killers. If this place was known to allow its workers to carry their own firearms then it is likely that he would have even tried and if he still did he would have not gotten 11 kills. Same with many other shootings. The foolish anti-gun policy made them sitting ducks.

Why don't you ask that question in threads where the shooter is white or politically leans right? We have thread after thread where the race and politics of the shooter seem to be a big deal, but, when those details don't match the narrative you want to cry about how these things don't matter? I agree! They don't matter. Just like they don't matter when the shooter is a white guy that votes republican.

Either the race and political affiliation of shooters always matters or it never matters. I lean towards it does NOT matter. Many in this forum prefer to be selective as to when it matters and when it does not. Those people are transparent hypocrites. If this does not describe you, then there is no reason to let your panties get all twisted into knots about it.

None because by the time they are stopped! Guess what?? they are not a "mass shooting." Quit playing Mickey Mouse games. Recently some school ones have been stopped by people fight instead of flight mode. As for mass shootings these shooters are not dumb and target areas without armed guards all too often. Not dealing with mental health aspect is foolish.
