Some here don't care about those things ( but then again, weren't satisfied with 11 Benghazi hearings that all came to the same conclusion...and want more until they get the outcome that they prefer)

there needs to be basis for such not just made up wishful thinking...

How about this for basis?

Anti-money laundering specialists at Deutsche Bank recommended in 2016 and 2017 that multiple transactions involving legal entities controlled by Donald J. Trump and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, be reported to a federal financial-crimes watchdog.

The transactions, some of which involved Mr. Trump’s now-defunct foundation, set off alerts in a computer system designed to detect illicit activity, according to five current and former bank employees. Compliance staff members who then reviewed the transactions prepared so-called suspicious activity reports that they believed should be sent to a unit of the Treasury Department that polices financial crimes.

But executives at Deutsche Bank, which has lent billions of dollars to the Trump and Kushner companies, rejected their employees’ advice. The reports were never filed with the government.

The nature of the transactions was not clear. At least some of them involved money flowing back and forth with overseas entities or individuals, which bank employees considered suspicious.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/19/business/deutsche-bank-trump-kushner.html

In the summer of 2016, Deutsche Bank’s software flagged a series of transactions involving the real estate company of Mr. Kushner, now a senior White House adviser.

Ms. McFadden, a longtime anti-money laundering specialist in Deutsche Bank’s Jacksonville office, said she had reviewed the transactions and found that money had moved from Kushner Companies to Russian individuals. She concluded that the transactions should be reported to the government — in part because federal regulators had ordered Deutsche Bank, which had been caught laundering billions of dollars for Russians, to toughen its scrutiny of potentially illegal transactions.

A federal judge on Monday ruled in favor of House Democrats in their efforts to obtain President Donald Trump’s financial records, marking the first legal victory for Democrats as the Trump administration stonewalls their attempts at congressional oversight.

Judge rules Trump can't block subpoena of his financial records by Congress

A federal judge in Washington has ruled against U.S. President Donald Trump in a financial records dispute with Congress.

Judge Amit Mehta's ruling says Trump cannot block the House subpoena of his financial records.

The decision is a setback for the Trump administration amid a widespread effort by the White House and the president's lawyers to refuse to co-operate with congressional requests for information and records.

I take back my nevermind from earlier.

The DC Court of Appeals is headed by Merrick Garland, and that is who Trump has appealed the lower Court ruling that he allows the release of his taxes to the House.

It is very likely that the head of the DC Court of Appeals (Merrick Garland) will oversee this case since it is the President. (High profile case.)

So, yeah! Merrick Garland just may be who decides the appeal case for Trump's taxes. eek

N.Y. passes legislation that could put Trump's tax returns in Congress's hands
The Associated Press · Posted: May 22, 2019 3:37 PM ET

New York lawmakers gave final passage to legislation Wednesday that would allow U.S. President Donald Trump's state tax returns to be released to congressional committees that have, so far, been barred from getting the president's federal filings.

The Democrat-led state senate and assembly both approved the measures Wednesday, sending them to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat. A spokesperson has said the governor supports the principle behind the legislation but will review the bill carefully before deciding whether to sign it.

They may well get them... but they are not going to show anything illegal. Nothing. What they will show is what we've seen... he uses the tax laws to his advantage. Which is something we all do... I know I take as many credits and adjustments... or like some low wage people I have helped file their taxes... "did you do ANY kind of side work? Like hair or baby sitting or anything... they were paid to do? Any form of earned income?" (and if you know jack about taxes you know why.)

So some are fine with (alleged) billionaires paying nothing in taxes, while the average schlub pays through the nose... No wonder Trump won with such sycophants who think he can do no wrong. These tax codes are generally crafted by Republicans to benefit the super rich. Plus The NY Times had a lengthy article a few months back (which I believe won a Pulitzer Prize) which detailed decades of tax avoidance and cheating, going back to the father Fred "KKK" Trump himself. Of course the Trump toadies will never read it- they don't want anything to disrupt their illusions

I am not sure what you mean by "fine"? I did not make a moral judgment. I think calling a person a "sycophants" is warranted. The question is did he break the law. And as I have said: if you file your taxes in such a way to reduce what you pay or maximise your return then you are doing the same thing.

I guess I'm not very smart- I actually paid taxes this year. And anyone else who paid must also be an idiot as well ....

But then again, the laws aren't crafted by people looking to protect folks like us...

And anyone who wants to know if laws were broken, they can seek out that NY Times article. Or they can prefer to remain ignorant with their head in the sand. As they say," it's all good"

Well, let's put it this way... if my ex-personal fixer lawyer testified to Congress that I was lying about the value of my assets to insurance companies and banks to qualify for loans etc... and produced back-up documentation to that end, then a request to see my taxes is reasonable and warranted.

Lol, they sure won’t. They’re too delusional to believe trump can do any wrong. They will deny that he does anything wrong. They love their conman. Just imagine how trump laughs behind closed doors at how he mindf****d his supporters, and knows that if he told them to kiss his feet... they’d ask if they could lick his feet again while wearing their MAGA hats. As far as his taxes, he’s fighting too hard to make sure they don’t get released, so he makes it obvious that he has something to hide.

Trump and his family have been con men and cheats for decades.

But what he CAN rely on is millions of Americans (like a good portion of his supporters) who lack critical thinking skills, and who are governed by emotion and not logic or reason. Trump looks at his followers as "suckers " who he was able to sell any nonsense to.

And I doubt very highly if any of his supporters, especially the ones on here, read The NY Times article which carefully laid out decades of tax cheating and other financial chicanery by the Trump family. Notice, none of the sycophants site that article in an attempt to refute its findings. They simply choose to ignore the facts presented
