He probably planned that trip around the Michael Cohen hearings, because he thought he could distract media attention from it. Also, hoping they would cover his trip with Kim instead. One media reporter stated Trump was angry because, one of the networks had a split screen of him with Kim, and the other with the Michael Cohen hearing.

President Donald Trump said Thursday he did not hold Kim Jong Un responsible for the death of Otto Warmbier, the U.S. college student who died after being imprisoned in North Korea.

"I don't believe he knew about it," Trump said of Kim (Jeong Un). "He tells me that he didn't know about it and I will take him at his word."

President Trump was pressed about Jamal Khashoggi's death and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's role in it, and the president didn't budge.

I will tell you this: The crown prince hates it more than I do, and they have vehemently denied it." ... "Maybe the world should be held accountable because the world is a very, very vicious place,"

President Donald Trump on Monday publicly sided with Russian President Vladimir Putin over his own intelligence agencies, refusing to condemn the Kremlin for interference in the 2016 election and saying that “I don’t see any reason” why Russia would have hacked Democratic computer servers.

Trump repeatedly attacked the FBI, praised Putin as a “good competitor,” refused to say Russia was accountable for any aspects of fraying U.S.-Russia relations, and attacked Mueller’s inquiry as “a disaster for our country.”

The summit was a huge FAIL.

The Koreans are now saying they offered much more than was was reported, they are of course lying to make Trump look bad - which makes him look like an even bigger dope as he heaps praise on Kim and "believes" him when he says he knows nothng about Warmbier.

disbelief #WORST.PRESIDENT.EVER.

what should he have done? dropped the sanctions without getting what he wanted? In this case, the US holds the TRUMP card! Not Kim! Kim will come around begging for a deal. And Trump has already done more with NK than all the presidents since IKE combined!

Lol ok.
Listen, unlike your right wing buddies, and some on the left, im with Trump on lifting tariffs on NK. I actually hope to see him succeed in this effort. This has gone on long enough. Ultimately it’s not NK anyone has been worried about but about China. NK has been used as a pawn but it looks like there’s no more use for that pawn. China is China and it looks like we’ll have to deal with it. China is now a major economic superpower that the US capitalism wants in on. That’s Trumps ultimate goal right? For fair trade with China.

It sounds good to me.

tariffs? do you mean sanctions? and I too want them lifted but kim has to do his part. He has to agree 100% no nukes. I know that some of kim's willingness to talk is due to China slipping support of NK... I want a good deal. We will get one. But for people who have ZERO interest in these talks (that is people who do not live in the US or NK or SK) make me laugh.

Tariffs sanctions whatever. Just get it done and over with. The nuclear argument is a bullshit one we have created ourselves by letting it go on this long.
Yes a good deal. Just get it done so the people of NK can get the help they need.

Otto Warmbier's family rebukes Trump, says Kim Jong Un is responsible for son's death

By Veronica Stracqualursi and Nicole Gaouette, CNN

Updated at 6:34 PM ET, Fri March 1, 2019

(CNN) — The family of Otto Warmbier rebuked President Donald Trump on Friday for siding with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, who denied knowledge of their son's maltreatment during his imprisonment.
"We have been respectful during this summit process. Now we must speak out. Kim and his evil regime are responsible for the death of our son Otto. Kim and his evil regime are responsible for unimaginable cruelty and inhumanity. No excuses or lavish praise can change that. Thank you," Fred and Cindy Warmbier, Otto's parents, said in a statement provided to CNN.

After a second summit with Kim in Vietnam, President Trump said Thursday he does not hold the North Korean dictator responsible for Warmbier's death.

true! you know, I admit, at first I thought this was just another one of your uninformed dumbshit posts as usual, but I was wrong: I just checked a world map and the positions of those three countries, and as it turns out North Korean missiles can only reach SK and the USA but no other country !!!11!!1!!! so you were correct, and clearly people of other countries have no business in voicing their opinion

I mean that would be like some idiotic shithead said that people of Venezuela should be "helped" while he doesn't even live in Venezuela. thank you so much for exposing such rotten fucking hypocritic cunts

I'm late to the party but here's somethings to consider.

Kim had known there were talks of Nobel peace prize for Trump, so he probably had thought Trump would take this deal to make himself look good and show some progress between the US N.Korea relations to the world. Trump at least didn't fall into that trap. Glad he demanded more and walked away. Kim is never to be trusted. He offered to destroy one of the major nuclear sites for lifting most of the UN sanctions - this is the kind of bait South Korean President (although he doesn't have the power to,) would've said yes to, or Obama may have also.

I was appalled by what he said regarding Warmbier's death but besides that..he did the right thing.

This summit isn't like other summits. Pre-negotiations? with a state notorious for flipflopping their words. breaking agreements. starving its own people to further develop nuclear weapons for the past at least few decades? lol not likely. Where we are at with the regime right now, whether we wanna admit or not, is the farthest we've come.

...But Trump on Sunday offered up another explanation for the abrupt end to his summit with North Korea's leader.

“For the Democrats to interview in open hearings a convicted liar & fraudster, at the same time as the very important Nuclear Summit with North Korea, is perhaps a new low in American politics and may have contributed to the ‘walk,’” he tweeted. “Never done when a president is overseas. Shame!”
