So many things that I don’t even where to post about all the wrongdoings

https://www.huffingtonpos...48ed8fbf0b

When it came out this year that President Donald Trump’s inaugural committee raised and spent unprecedented amounts, people wondered where all that money went.

It turns out one beneficiary was Trump himself.

The inauguration paid the Trump Organization for rooms, meals and event space at the company’s Washington hotel, according to interviews as well as internal emails and receipts reviewed by WNYC and ProPublica.

During the planning, Ivanka Trump, the president-elect’s eldest daughter and a senior executive with the Trump Organization, was involved in negotiating the price the hotel charged the 58th Presidential Inaugural Committee for venue rentals. A top inaugural planner emailed Ivanka and others at the company to “express my concern” that the hotel was overcharging for its event spaces, worrying of what would happen “when this is audited.”

If the Trump hotel charged more than the going rate for the venues, it could violate tax law. The inaugural committee’s payments to the Trump Organization and Ivanka Trump’s role have not been previously reported or disclosed in public filings.

“The fact that the inaugural committee did business with the Trump Organization raises huge ethical questions about the potential for undue enrichment,” said Marcus Owens, the former head of the division of the Internal Revenue Service that oversees nonprofits.

Inaugural workers had other misgivings. Rick Gates, then the deputy to the chairman of the inaugural, asked some vendors to take payments directly from donors, rather than through the committee, according to two people with direct knowledge. The vendors felt the request was unusual and concerning, according to these people, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they signed confidentiality agreements. It is not clear whether any vendors took him up on his request.
President Trump is a disgusting piece of shit.

Exactly. His greed for power/control. His nasty and hateful rhetoric. All at the same time having all those skeletons in his closet, but attacks everyone else’s character that doesn’t agree with him. He hates anyone in the media that exposes ugly truths about him, and attacks them verbally with insults. What he seems to be oblivious to, is that the nedia is a powerful tool, and can make or break anyone. So now he’s getting back what he puts out. His supporters are the only ones who are foolish enough to fall for his lies.

He’s already facing investigations by a U.S. Attorney, and 3 State Attorneys (NY,NJ and Maryland).

As of right now, the judge sentencing Flynn is taking a break and contemplating whether to go ahead and and not give him jail time. Good for him!

Even if he goes ahead and goes easy on him for being a “rat”, it’s always good to see someone having trouble just going through the motions and not feel conflicted about going easy on a treasonous scum even if they help bring down the orange piece of shit.

Flynn's attorneys decided ask to delay his sentencing....More to come.

-

Here are some of the highlights from a little earlier....

-

Judge blasts Flynn: "Arguably you sold your country out"

From CNN's Katelyn Polantz

Judge Sullivan harshly admonished Michael Flynn for acting as unregistered agent while serving as the national security adviser, leaving open the possibility of jail time for Flynn.

“All along, you were an unregistered agent of a foreign country while serving as the National Security Adviser to the President of the United States. That undermines everything this flag over here stands for. Arguably you sold your country out."

Sullivan says he could impose a sentence of incarceration.

"I am not hiding my disgust, my disdain for your criminal offense," Sullivan said, straining his voice and taking a brief pause. "Yes, your honor," Flynn said, though he was not asked a question.

-

-

Judge to Flynn: "Not only did you lie to the FBI, you lied" to senior Trump officials

From CNN's Katelyn Polantz

Michael Flynn returned to the podium with his lawyers after Judge Emmet Sullivan wanted to ask him a few more questions.

-

"I believe I understand that" there could be more cooperation needed from Flynn, Flynn said to the judge. He confirmed he's already done 19 interviews with investigators.

-

Sullivan noted that this circumstance today is rare — hearings like this during continuing cooperation are often sealed, or are put on pause until the cooperation is complete.

-

Having a sentencing today "is your prerogative, and only yours," Sullivan said. "If you want to postpone this ..." Sullivan suggested again.

"I want to be frank with you, this crime is very serious," Sullivan said.

If Sullivan sentences Flynn today, he can only take into consideration the cooperation up to this point. A sentence at a later date might be different if Flynn's cooperation continued, Sullivan said.

"The aggravating circumstances are serious. Not only did you lie to the FBI, you lied to senior officials in the incoming administration," Sullivan said.

-

-

Flynn's attorney asks judge to delay sentencing

From CNN's Katelyn Polantz

Michael Flynn's attorney has asked Judge Emmet Sullivan to delay the sentencing.

"We are prepared to take your honor up on his suggestion of delaying sentencing, so he can (sic) out the last modicum of cooperation" in Virginia, the attorney said.

Prosecutors said they had no problems delaying the sentencing.

Judge delays Flynn sentencing

From CNN's Katelyn Polantz

-

Michael Flynn will not be sentenced today.

Judge Emmet Sullivan says it is fine to delay Flynn's sentencing and proceed by having both sides update the judge on his case in March.

I believe this sentence was the key factor in todays supposed hearing on Flynn....

-

Sullivan noted that this circumstance today is rare — hearings like this during continuing cooperation are often sealed, or are put on pause until the cooperation is complete.

-

Judge Sullivan appeared to really want to gauge how much Flynn's cooperation help determine how he sentenced him. With the investigation being "ongoing", it would have been hard to determine actually how much Flynn's assistance help the Feds. Flynn originally declined being sentenced today and was prepared for Sullivan's judgment.

Allegedly Mueller recommended no jail time and considering his service.

And apparently the judge was also pissed that Flynn's lawyers insinuated that perhaps the FBI somehow coerced him into lying to them - even though he already admitted that he did in fact lie to them. Really bad move by the defense. wink

Not sure if this was posted here or not but.....(Take it with a grain of salt) Excerpts below...

-

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/justice-department/mueller-may-submit-report-attorney-general-soon-mid-february-say-n949961

-

Mueller may submit report to attorney general as soon as mid-February, say sources

-

-

By Pete Williams and Ken Dilanian
-

WASHINGTON — Special counsel Robert Mueller is nearing the end of his historic investigation into Russian election interference and is expected to submit a confidential report to the attorney general as early as mid-February, government officials and others familiar with the situation tell NBC News.

-

"They clearly are tying up loose ends," said a lawyer who has been in contact with the Mueller team.

-

The sources either did not know or would not say whether Mueller has answered the fundamental question he was hired to investigate: Whether Trump or anyone around him conspired with the Russia...operations to help his campaign.

-

Mueller has not made public any evidence proving such a conspiracy, though he has rebutted in court filings the president's assertion that neither he nor any of his top aides had... Russians during the 2016 race. They did, according to Mueller; and, in the case of his lawyer's negotiations over a Trump Tower in Moscow, Trump knew about it, court filings say.

-

Mueller has also examined the question whether the president obstructed justice, and is expected to address that matter in his report. Whether the special counsel will accuse the president of wrongdoing on that score is unclear.

-

The sources who spoke to NBC News warn that a few major outstanding matters could complicate Mueller's endgame. One is Mueller's desire to interview the president about all aspects of his investigation, including obstruction of justice matters about which the president has refused to answer questions.

-

If Mueller moved to subpoena the president, that could spark months of litigation that could delay his report. A source familiar with the matter says Acting Attorney General ... subpoena.

-

U.S. officials familiar with the matter say the Justice Department and Congress have been planning for the delivery of a report by Mueller, on the assumption that at least some part of it would be made public. That would not be an easy process, given the extent to which the investigation has relied on classified information and grand jury testimony that is secret by law.

-

In Mueller's case, the acting attorney general, Whitaker, would receive the report and would have to decide what do to with it.

The regulations governing the special counsel say the special counsel "shall provide the Attorney General with a confidential report explaining the prosecution or declination decisions reached by the Special Counsel."

-

The Justice Department is likely to make some aspect of the report public, sources say. House Democrats, who will have subpoena power as of January, have said they will do everything they can to make sure it sees the light of day.

Government files sealed response to Supreme Court in mystery grand jury case

The federal government responded Friday to Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts' issuance of a temporary pause
on an order holding an unnamed, foreign government-owned company in contempt over a mystery court case related to special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation.

This is the first known legal challenge apparently related to Mueller's investigation to make its way to the Supreme Court.

Roberts' original order put on hold the contempt citation issued by a DC federal judge against the company for refusing to comply with a grand jury subpoena, but only long enough for the justices to decide whether they want to intervene...

Unecessary intervention anyone?

I'll never forget when Trey Gowdy ended his BENGHAZI!!!1!1!!! investigation - the one he was specifically assigned to in order to specifically pin it all on Hillary Clinton.

Of course, he had to exonerate Clinton as she didn't do anything wrong. And he did, but it was totally bizarre. I'm paraphrasing here but this is pretty much what he said:

"Benghazi was a terrible, terrible tragedy and what happened there was unforgivable! UN.FOR.GIVE.A.BLE. It was out-and-out murder, the likes of which I have never ever seen before! (whispers) Hillary Clinton is at no fault here but (end whispering) IT WAS MURDER AND IT WAS UNFORGIVABLE AND HEADS ARE GOING TO ROLL. Hillary Clinton is an evil, evil woman surely guilty of all kinds of sins! I cannot believe someone like Hillary Clinton is ever trusted with the safety of our diplomats!!1!!!1!!!! If I had my way, Hillary Clinton would not be allowed within 100 miles of any government office! I hope you're listening to my rant about Hillary Clinton, America!"

That dude was so mad that you'd have thought someone had killed a member of his family. And if you weren't paying attention, you'd have thought for sure it was all Clinton's fault. It was a low point in Gowdy's career, to be sure.
