...as in 'not analogous'.

and, like i said, lack of security is not the problem. a culture that breeds people who are willing to use a GUN to vent their frustrations. the proliferation and obsession with VIOLENCE and DESTRUCTION as entertainment. the lack of empathy...these are the problems that double doors are not going to solve.

maybe if people were given the opportunity to view what seventeen murdered children looks like, there might be some more significant call to action, as opposed to a bunch of distractions like armed teachers and super heavy duty special door locks...

you could fix several of the items on my list over Spring Break... all over summer... how long might it take to fix the culture? and it sounds like you want to do more than ban (at least some) guns...but go after speech too....

and if we all looked at photos of aborted fetuses maybe that would change some minds...

and really you are opposed to being able to lock a door? (did i say super heavy duty?)

the short view is what got us here...

so you are on a road trip... it is 1000 miles long... do not bother to buckle up... after all, it is a long drive.

oh and that would mean that person (the rage quitter) was NOT on the kid's side...

So now you're admitting it COULD be a requirement of employment? Hmmm, that's completely opposite from what you said yesterday.

No, I didn't...

and that is not what I said. I said it would not... not that it could not. But either way it WILL not be one and I never suggested it would or could.

I got a lot of thoughts swimming around so this may not be coherent, but Imma take a shot.

So, the concept is that if shooters know that someone trained with a gun is at a school then it is reasoned that is supposed to be a deterrant. Yet one of the worse school shooting in US history literally had a trained armed security guard, who ended up doing absolutely nothing when the time came for them to do the only job they were supposedly trained to do. So now, the solution is to arm, underpaid overworked civilians with a handgun, give them a week or 2 or 3, of training on how to use it. The same civilians that have to come out of pocket in many many cases to pay for supplies so they can do the job they trained YEARS to do because the government cannot or will not provide enough adequate equipment for them to do the best job they are there to do in the first place. Yet the government is going to PAY (I'm assuming) for them to be adequately trained to use a handgun, in case of an random emergency. Again it is reasoned that this should be at the very least a sufficient deterrant to a person who is in a "I could give a fuq" mentality armed with an assault weapon, or 2 or 3 or 4.

Ask a legitimate scientist and they will tell you that just because something works inside your head or written out on a piece of paper has jacksh*t to do with how things work in reallife.

Some people need to turn off those western tv shows because they are having a very difficult time in discern that what plays out on that screen has nothing to do with life. John Wayne was an actor, pretending to be a badass cowboy.

I agree with you. When I brought up the issue of how much money the teachers spend out of pocket, I was told I was deflecting. Teachers having guns is never gonna work.

Would you just stop yapping about something you know nothing about. Do you seriously think that teachers want to teach because they make so much $$? Teachers are on the kids sides, else they wouldn't be teaching. They would snowflake out? They didn't get a teaching degree to provide armed protection for the students, they aren't cops, they aren't military.

So really stop with the putting teachers down. You could always volunteer your time to protect a school since you were in the military....

I will not stop. I did not insut teachers in general just thoes that say stuff like "If they try to make me I will quit" when it would be 100% volentary. And again you seem to assume that no teachers would take that resposability.

I have said I have little intrest in firearms, I do own firearms, I have not fired one in over 25 years. I do not have a permit to carry nor do I feel motivated to do so.

How about a flamethrower? Or a bazooka ? Or a grenade launcher?
If I could afford it, should I be allowed to buy a nuclear warhead?

And if not, why ?

really? that is where you go? But I am thinking a flamethrower is legal as are grenade launchers.

I am not sure what you THINK you mean by a bazooka.

A nuke---really? are you opposed to North Korea having them?

I won't take seriously any comparisons of semi-automatic firearms to bazookas, grenade launchers or nuclear warheads.

Nobody really cares what you "take seriously " or not...

But it's obvious that there is weapons that most people consider off limits for the general public to have access to. The debate is over which ones ..,
