Yeah this sure as hell shuts down the morons who claim these incidents are provoked by Trump.

I can picture the radical liberals now ....

It is very interesting how some can't wait to illuminate connections that validate their own personal narrative, but ignore or belittle facts that don't fit their worldview.

Well said.

Unfortunately that's been going on for more than a decade here.

1) Start a thread under a false or unproven premise.

2) Ignore facts that disprove aforementioned premise.

3) Bail on thread when aforementioned premise is proven 100% false

4) Repeat 1 thru 3

it is odd what some cling too... I remember when they found the Unabomber (a case where his family set aside emotions to do the right thing) a reporter was going on and on that they had found sodium chloride (NaCl) in his house and wondering why anyone would need that!

And other times people were arrested and they might find a Rush Limbimugh book in his house and that was news... I wonder how many criminals had a copy of "Dreams of my Father" that was never reported.

No one is coming for your abortion: they just want common-sense abortion regulations: background checks, waiting periods, lifetime limits, take a class, and a small tax.

CNN just ran story about an hour ago, no mention of Sanders just asking when Trump would address this because "some people felt" like he and they ranted the antiMuslim agenda. Sickening. Sanders did rant about Saudis a lot complaining about war funding. If anyone finds more about this guys recent social media postings be interesting. Probably anti-Saudi extremist against Trump.
What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

Let's try and focus on the men who lost their lives and the one still in the hospital with serious injuries:

http://www.cnn.com/2017/0...ndex.html

...and the poor girls who were the target of this lunatic's hatred - one speaks up:

(CNN)As tears streamed down her cheeks, Destinee Mangum, 16, thanked the three strangers who intervened on a Portland light-rail train after a man hurled anti-Muslim slurs at her and her friend who was wearing a hijab.

Two of the men were killed. One is in the hospital after the suspect, identified as Jeremy Joseph Christian, 35, stabbed the three victims, according to police.

"I just want to say thank you to the people who put their life on the line for me," Mangum told CNN affiliate KPTV,her voice cracking. "Because they didn't even know me and they lost their lives because of me and my friend and the way we look."

Thanks for posting. It's a shame that monster put his hate into action, and took the lives of two people, and harmed a third who is still hospitalized. There has definitely been an increase in those types of attacks since the election.

I already know the game you're trying to pull here, but it won't work. smile

Fact is, there has been an increase in attacks on Muslims, in this country, since the election, and trump's hate rhetoric during the election, has contributed to that increase. You will never admit to that. So no surprise.

The killer verbally attacked two females with anti-Muslim rhetoric. That's the facts. Then he attacked 3 people-killing two, and injuring a third individual, because they were defending the people the monster verbally attacked. That's a fact.

Try to 'focus' on the 'facts' of the crime, and what led to to the monster, murdering innocent people.

Now Like the article states:

"President Trump must speak out personally against the rising tide of Islamophobia and other forms of bigotry and racism in our nation that he has provoked through his numerous statements, policies and appointments that have negatively impacted minority communities," said CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad."

You're welcome at anytime, to the write the author of that article, at the link posted, and voice your opinion on it. In the meantime, show some decent respect for the victims. Have a great day.

Sad, that these types of attacks are have increased. Too many, innocent people being verbally attacked and some killed. Prayers to the victims of that recent attack, and to the victims who died defending them.

From the Southerm Poverty Law Center:

https://www.splcenter.org...ical-right

February 15, 2017

Hate groups increase for second consecutive year as Trump electrifies radical right

The number of hate groups in the United States rose for a second year in a row in 2016 as the radical right was energized by the candidacy of Donald Trump, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center’s (SPLC) annual census of hate groups and other extremist organizations, released today.[b]

The most dramatic growth was the near-tripling of anti-Muslim hate groups – from 34 in 2015 to 101 last year.

The growth has been accompanied by a rash of crimes targeting Muslims, including an arson that destroyed a mosque in Victoria, Texas, just hours after the Trump administration announced an executive order suspending travel from some predominantly Muslim countries. The latest FBI statistics show that hate crimes against Muslims grew by 67 percent in 2015, the year in which Trump launched his campaign.

The report, contained in the Spring 2017 issue of the SPLC’s Intelligence Report, includes the Hate Map showing the names, types and locations of hate groups across the country.

The SPLC found that the number of hate groups operating in 2016 rose to 917 – up from 892 in 2015. The number is 101 shy of the all-time record set in 2011, but high by historic standards.

“2016 was an unprecedented year for hate,” said Mark Potok, senior fellow and editor of the Intelligence Report. “The [u]country saw a resurgence of white nationalism that imperils the racial progress we’ve made, along with the rise of a president whose policies reflect the values of white nationalists. In Steve Bannon, these extremists think they finally have an
ally who has the president's ear.”

The increase in anti-Muslim hate was fueled by Trump’s incendiary rhetoric, including his campaign pledge to bar Muslims from entering the United States, as well as anger over terrorist attacks such as the June massacre of 49 people at a gay nightclub in Orlando.

The overall number of hate groups likely understates the real level of organized hatred in America as a growing number of extremists operate mainly online and are not formally affiliated with hate groups.

Aside from its annual census of extremist groups, the SPLC found that Trump’s rhetoric reverberated across the nation in other ways. In the first 10 days after his election, the SPLC documented 867 bias-related incidents, including more than 300 that targeted immigrants or Muslims.

Family of victim in fatal Oregon stabbing involving hate speech say he died in 'act of bravery'

https://www.google.com/am...3D47672660

By MORGAN WINSOR, DAVID CAPLAN and J.J. GALLAGHER
May 27, 2017, 5:17 PM ET

"We lost him in a senseless act that brought close to home the insidious rift of prejudice and intolerance that is too familiar, too common," the man's sister, Vajra, said in a statement Saturday. "In his final act of bravery, he held true to what he believed."

Namkai-Meche and the other man killed in the stabbing, 53-year-old Ricky John Best, were identified by the Portland Police Bureau on Saturday.

Best, of Happy Valley, Oregon, died at the scene and Namkai-Meche, of Southeast Portland died at a hospital. Another victim who was injured in the attack has been identified as 21-year-old Micah David-Cole Fletcher of Southeast Portland. Fletcher remains in a hospital where he's being treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

The mother of Namkai-Meche told ABC News her son was among those who tried to protect other commuters from the knife-wielding man. On Saturday, she posted a photo of her son on Facebook, calling him a "hero" and a "shining bright star."

Family of victim in fatal Oregon stabbing involving hate speech say he died in 'act of bravery' https://www.google.com/am...3D47672660 By MORGAN WINSOR, DAVID CAPLAN and J.J. GALLAGHER May 27, 2017, 5:17 PM ET "We lost him in a senseless act that brought close to home the insidious rift of prejudice and intolerance that is too familiar, too common," the man's sister, Vajra, said in a statement Saturday. "In his final act of bravery, he held true to what he believed." Namkai-Meche and the other man killed in the stabbing, 53-year-old Ricky John Best, were identified by the Portland Police Bureau on Saturday. On Saturday, she posted a photo of her son on Facebook, calling him a "hero" and a "shining bright star." [Edited 5/29/17 13:25pm]

It's so sad - heart-wrenching and horrific. These men are heroes.

Sad, that these types of attacks are have increased. Too many, innocent people being verbally attacked and some killed. Prayers to the victims of that recent attack, and to the victims who died defending them. From the Southerm Poverty Law Center: https://www.splcenter.org...ical-right February 15, 2017 Hate groups increase for second consecutive year as Trump electrifies radical right(ASTERICK: BERNIE SANDERS) The number of hate groups in the United States rose for a second year in a row in 2016 as the radical right was energized by the candidacy of Donald Trump(ASTERICK: BERNIE SANDERS), according to the Southern Poverty Law Center’s (SPLC) annual census of hate groups and other extremist organizations, released today.[b] The most dramatic growth was the near-tripling of anti-Muslim hate groups – from 34 in 2015 to 101 last year. The growth has been accompanied by a rash of crimes targeting Muslims, including an arson that destroyed a mosque in Victoria, Texas, just hours after the Trump administration(ASTERICK: BERNIE SANDERS) announced an executive order suspending travel from some predominantly Muslim countries. In Steve Bannon, these extremists think they finally have an ally who has the president's ear.” The increase in anti-Muslim hate was fueled by Trump’s incendiary rhetoric(ASTERICK: BERNIE SANDERS), including his campaign pledge to bar Muslims from entering the United States, as well as anger over terrorist attacks such as the June massacre of 49 people at a gay nightclub in Orlando. The overall number of hate groups likely understates the real level of organized hatred in America as a growing number of extremists operate mainly online and are not formally affiliated with hate groups. Aside from its annual census of extremist groups, the SPLC found that Trump’s rhetoric(ASTERICK: BERNIE SANDERS) reverberated across the nation in other ways. In the first 10 days after his election, the SPLC documented 867 bias-related incidents, including more than 300 that targeted immigrants or Muslims.
