Already been discussed. Statistics prove there's far more black-on-white than white-on-black crime/violence. Even African Americans believe blacks are more racist than whites.

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/lifestyle/general_lifestyle/july_2013/more_americans_view_blacks_as_racist_than_whites_hispanics

Americans consider blacks more likely to be racist than whites and Hispanics in this country.

Thirty-seven percent (37%) of American Adults think most black Americans are racist, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Just 15% consider most white Americans racist, while 18% say the same of most Hispanic Americans. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Among black Americans, 31% think most blacks are racist, while 24% consider most whites racist and 15% view most Hispanics that way.

Lol. My, my you're desperate. That report does not prove much. You can't take a measuring cup to measure racial prejudice of entire groups Using a small segment of certain populations, to prove who is more racist than the other, is a desperate attempt to deny/sugarcoat the fact that the system of racism 'in and for America' was designed 'solely' by the hands of Whites, to deny and limit full human rights to Blacks, and other people of color in America. That system was designed to benefit the future of the White population, and to keep them as the majority power base in America. That 'system' gave birth to 'white supremacist/white nationalist ideologies', which is why you see ignorant white nationalists, promoting that same ideology, born out of that very 'system of racism', intentionally designed by their early, European immigrant ancestors, who later became Americans. The fact is, There is no documentation where a Blacks in America designed racist laws to specifically deny Whites equal rights. There is no measuring cup to prove what segment of the population is more 'racially prejudiced', than another. However, one can prove which group is 'more racist', if a 'specific' racial or religious group has the power to 'intentionally' prevent another racial or religious group, from receiving fair, equal human rights and treatment or has a history of intentionally, mistreating a major portion of a specific, racial or religious group. Fact is, America was designed by a system of racism, and that is why that system still exists. Do the research. Oh, and let me know when you find a law written specifically by Black Americans, and passed in Congress, that denied White Americans their human rights or limited the rights of White Americans. Good luck with that. popcorn [Edited 12/11/16 6:44am]

The whole thing is just absurd. It just plays into the narrative "Black racism vs. White racism", as if that was an equivilant option to even consider. Except for idiots like Black Isralites and followers who manage to stay awake during Louis Farrakhan's 4 hour distribes, Blacks generally do not consider Whites "inferior". Instead, the Blacks who dislike Whites generally feel this way because they believe that (many) Whites actually hate THEM, and and consider THEM inferior...And as I said many times, even the Blacks who hate Whites the most, short of verbally or physically attacking white people, what can they actually DO them to manifes this "hatred" ? Make them slaves ? Deny them jobs ? Force them to live in certain neighborhoods ? Provide them with an inferior education (or no education) ? Pollute the water in their areas, or the skies ?

Of course black people can be racist. The same way white people can be racist. Certain types of stupidity are not exclusive to one "race". However, a lot of what is seen as racism is often not actual racism. Like, for instance, a white person using the N word. That in itself is not racist. It's just a word. But accusing the person who says it of being racist diminishes the act of actual racism. It lessens the impact of it. Arseholes who go around in white hoods beating up and killing black people just because they're black are racist. Using a word in a non threatening, non insulting way is not racist. As far as "black racism" goes, I've certainly been discriminated against because I'm white. But the ones doing the discriminating aren't racist. They might be prejudiced, just like a number of people here on the org, but they're not racist. So yes, black racism CAN happen just like any other kind, but it's not as prevalent as it's made out to be. People these days just love to be offended though so they'll try to find offence anywhere they can get it. This whole black racism thing seems like a group of whiny white people got jealous of certain black people taking offence to what they perceive to be racism so they wanted in on it. And all the while, the crime of actual racism is swept in with this other nonsense and is not taken as seriously because of it.

My issue here is how this word is used by a non-Black person in a way that is not intended to convey that the Black person is an "inferior" or beneath them in some way...I would really have to hear the CONTEXT and TONE of this usage, before I could conclude that it WAS NOT racist. Now , perhaps I am biased here, given how many times this word was uttered at me and people I know on the streets of New York City in my youth. I don't recall it being particularly "friendly"....

What am I denying?

The great amount of racism against black people and non white people.

Did you even read my post? Didn't I just say that racism against black people is real? Didn't I just give an example of it? Unless you're referring to the comment I made about people, both black and white, finding racism and offence where none is intended. Because when people do that it trivialises real racism. Which is a problem. That's hardly me denying anything though, is it?

The context and tone are of the utmost importance. Words on their own are just words, afterall. The morons who directed certain words at you with intent to belittle you in some way are just that. Morons. Quite possibly racist morons. And if the only reason why they did say these things is because you are black, then they definitely ARE racist morons. I'm not saying racism doesn't exist. Of course it does. My ex is black American and he has some interesting stories from his youth which I won't divulge here. But people of all races DO tend to be more easily offended these days so sometimes it happens where you'll see someone accused of racism for saying a certain word or telling a certain joke. No racism may have been intended and the joke may not have been funny but to call this person a racist for what they said just dilutes the impact of when actual racists say the things they say or do the things they do. And that shouldn't be the case because there are some truly sick people, again, of all races, who hate others based purely on skin colour or nationality or whatever. These are the ones who deserve to be labelled as racist. Not the guy who tells the bad joke in poor taste. He's just an idiot. He's not necessarily a racist.

Welcome to a P&R race thread! It's an endless rabbit hole from which few emerge unscathed. Best to get out while the getting is good! Nothing ever gets solved in these threads. Only bad things get revealed.

Regardless of how they start, they all end up this way. You can break down every single post in a race-related P&R thread into one of three categories:

1. "You can't handle the hard truth that all whites are racist and embrace white supremacy"
2. "Everyone is racist - white, black Puerto Rican, everyone's just a-freakin' (racist)"
3. "What can we do to make things better?" (This kind of post always goes unanswered, which completely epitomizes race threads in P&R)

In the instances that I am recounting, these words was used as an implict, and sometimes, explicit, threat. So that is the context I am working from, and have to convinced otherwise.

I see your point about sometimes things being just stupid jokes, and a person shouldn't be crucified over it (as many of the right wingers here tried to do with some clueless Joe Biden comments, in an attempt at a false equivilancy). Also, remember that sometimes "jokes" also reflect the joker's personal views (like 2 female politicians recently caught on Facebook "joking" that Michelle Obama is an "ape in heels"...which one claimed wasn't racist ! eek ) But I would look at each instance on a case by case basis

American race issues are rooted in the fact that we fought a war over it, on our soil, and all the descendants of that passion play are still here. You can't compare it with Europe although we all know they were slave owners. They got out of an economic structure that was ending by being bought out by their governments. Then they went home to their own countries without addressing the people they left behind or the morality or what would happen next.

St Croix, now a US territory has had 7 flags fly over it since Columbus showed up in 1493. All the usual slavery playas - England, France, Spain, Netherlands, and Denmark. Literally every square inch of that island was divided into plantations, called estates. No small feat considering it is very hilly and inaccessible in many spots.
