and you seem to be the type of person (who if i am not mistake had a history of such) that attacks any person of color that dare think for themselves and support anyone or any idea other than the democrat or the party line are to be attacked or called names.

I see it here all the time... this black man is an (RACE BASED SLUR) because he dare go his own way!

The irony is that slur actually praise! As that figure did the right thing against opposition!

but oh no they often defend it and make it as if i am too dumb to get it! That the comparison has nothing to do with race.... RIGHT! LOL lol

And it almost always comes with (as in this case) some insult to that person's functioning or that they are going against their own self interest. Sick!

Oh and they often have some list of a few token (almost always very low level) black conservatives they like...

No one is coming for your abortion: they just want common-sense abortion regulations: background checks, waiting periods, lifetime limits, take a class, and a small tax.

Why is HE a Black person who "Thinks for himself", and I (and others) who have an opposite view NOT "thinking for themselves" ? And why should I NOT criticize or mock someone I think is wrong or stupid or crazy JUST because they are Black ?? I thought you conservatives were against any "special treatment" based on race ....I will criticize anybody I feel deserves it, whatever their background

(And BTW- I really liked Gen. Powell, and repected Dr. Rice- I don't think that they would be considered "low-level" figures...)

funny... and off the mark. But I consider the source. You are desperate to defend your slurs against people that do not think and act the way YOU think they should. You ASSertion that "dares think for himself" impies that you do not think for yourself. What it means is you do noy think he sould not hold or at least not express the opnion of view has on a given subject. Maybe you really do belive that liberalism is the best and only way to go. Maybe others dissagree?

In a case of contrdictory postions such as X or Not X... one of them is wrong. But that is not the same as one of them being a bad person or a liar or a turncoat or traider.

Should every opinion be given equal weight and respect ? Are there not some thoughts, some statements, that evn YOU would say "That was just stupid" or "that's really crazy" ?

(And by the way- Now you are standing up for Kanye's meeting with Trump, and think it's fine and dandy ...What was your opinion of him when he said on live TV "George Bush don't like Black people" ? I wonder ....)

of course not the problem is which ones are not as good? but you have a good point that i am no perfect that i do cast judgments on people but they are never based on race or gender.

(And by the way- Now you are standing up for Kanye's meeting with Trump, and think it's fine and dandy ...What was your opinion of him when he said on live TV "George Bush don't like Black people" ? I wonder ....)

I am not stating up for him. i do not care. i do however call people out if i perceive them as using any persons race as a reason (however slight) to put them down

His statement about bush was out of line. that as not his forum to make a political statement. not to mention it was not even based on fact when about half of the homes and and about half of the dead were white. And that even then it was clear that the ball had been dropped by the (since convicted) Mayor and the Governor. Not only had no one even requested federal aide they were not prepared to revive it.

Example the federal government used helicopters to pick people off roofs...and delivered them to a city designated safe(er) place. But the city had NO means to get them from there.

Example: there was very poor planing as to where people could go... the super dome was mentioned but many others went to other places (was it the civic center) but no one was there to provide aide.

Example: the mayor refused to use city resources to help evacuate. they claimed it was a logical issue.... bull! they had 100s of school buses. Those could have use their normal bus routes as well as pick up at neighborhood schools to take the people to other means of transport. Such as greyhound and Amtrak (Both companies offered and were turned down to help with evacuation.) And there was not a ONE WAY order on the highways from NOLA to make evacuation easier.

Simply put Bush did more than was requested and did so within 3 days... which is better than obama's response in similar situations.

Where to start? You know absofuckinglutely NOTHING about what really happened before, during and after Katrina. I do. I live here. Argue amongst yourself. That is how stupid you sound spouting off stuff you read on websites. All you are showing is ignorance of the scope of that disaster. Petty petty bullshit - going tit for tat on the color breakdown of those who died to "prove" a ridiculous point. Shame on you.

eye

And stop trying to revisit that Trump thinks for himself dreck. That's exactly how you got in trouble comparing him to Prince and then having to edit out your post - on Prince.org.

the only point i made was Kanye was out of line when he said what he said where and when he said it. none of the things i said were untrue... but i am sure you would go to great lengths to defend that race baiting convict ray negan.

Did you actually READ the article ?? If not, please do so before commenting...The article points out that most job growth is in urban areas in technology and services industries. These growing businesses are NOT in the rural and exurban areas where most Trump supporters reside...and there is NOTHING Trump can do to change that

So it is OK to have an opinion on somebody's statements or ideas ? My view of Kanye is that given his background, he should know better (which is something his own friend, John Legend , has also pretty much said)...However, Kanye obviously has mental problems, so I'll chalk it up to that...

As for the rest of what you wrote about Katrina...It's good to know that you received the talking points memos

Keep in mind that many Southern Fraternities in the 1950s and 1960s (NONE of which were known for their embrace of Integration) absolutely LOVED R&B music , and would often book Black artists for their parties. The great R&B singer Solomon Burke once told a story about how he was booked for a show, and it turned out to be for Klan members !! And they loved his music eek

Even in my own youth in NYC, the most racist Italian kids all LOVED Disco and funk music...

So musical taste doesn't always correlate with political views
