I read the front page and then the metro section followed by the sports section which I probably read the closest. If there is time I will check out the other sections.

Ex-Moderator | Gosh, which one??
When I read City Pages (our local weekly) I have quite the ritual. I read the letters to the editor first, then check out the "I Saw You" ads (as I'm convinced this is how I will meet my future husband), then my weekly horroscope, then Dan Savage sex column, then I read my favorite columnist's weekly column, then the food critic's piece, then the A List (weekly round-up of the best things to do over the next week in Mpls). From there I check out whatever else interests me. I have similar rituals for USA Today, Entertainment Weekly and Bust Magazine, which are the main periodicals I purchase/have subscritions to. |

Considering I WRITE for a weekly paper...
I read my columns FIRST! Spotlights (brief on upcoming music acts), Concession Stand (capsule movie reviews), Poppers (local restaurant news), the Calendar of Events and Metro Music (who's playing where around town).

When I was writing for newspapers I never really read my columns as I had written them. I would just check to see what was cut and if the layout was nice.

Well, yeah...that's why I read my shit first: to make sure everything made the cut.

Moderator | Horoscopes, then comics, then entertainment, then the front page (major news stories) In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular. |
