When You Meet Up With Orgers...

Do u lose something? I'm curious to know what it's like. I'm a pretty shy, reclusive person anyway, so meeting an orger would be a bit much for me. Is it a little strange sometimes to meet the real person behind the avatar and uncharacteristically charming posts?

Are they just as u imagine them to be? Nicer? Better looking? More well-endowed? Or, are u sometimes so disappointed that you wish u had never met them?

Do tell.

I have never been disappointed. It's fun to meet the people behind the screen name. As far as losing something? I think if you had high expectations and then discovered someone to be an ass in person it would lose something, but that's never happened to me.

I guess u'd figure that u'd know if they were an ass from their posts on the org.

I reckon when you meet someone off the Org you're always gonna lose something (whether the rendezvous was good or bad). That initial 'mystery'..... that mental caricature of the unknown, is either diluted or lost.

It's not necessarily a bad thing though wink

'...grammar' edit. (Aye! Some peeps do give a foo'k about that shit wink )

I don't think you can always tell these things online. Depends on how much of their personality people really portray. There are a few people whom I thought were a complete ass online, and turned out to be quite nice, fun people in person. So in those cases, I've been pleasantly surprised.

On the face of it, at least 50% of orgers are almost quite likeable individuals, so I guess the odds aren't too bad. Just so long as u stay away from those flamin' crims the Aussies and obnoxious Americans that is.

I have met very many and all were always wonderful! Most are fairly true to nature around here with one in who mascarades as an ass here and is the warmest kindest man in person.

It has been an honor to get to know each and everyone. I love the New York orgers and Milty takes the prize for longest distance orger.

kiss2 Muse... I so agree. rose

It's been a growthful addition to my personal being. I except all for who they are... and appreciate them as such. rose

Although seriously, I feel I am a well-rounded individual... and meeting others has only brought more into light. I am a personable person... I always prefer getting to know someone on a face-to-face interaction. This place has only brought that outlet to meeting beautiful people on a more personal level. I don't neccessarily come here to just "mess" around... I come here to connect with others and ultimately meet in real life, always.

Well, I guess there will have to be an Org Meet and Greet the Moderators. That's if we ever get that house for the Org Meet up.....

If you ever in my neighbourhood org note me so we can get together.

Oh, I have talked to Althom on the phone - does that count??

Well I did meet the Viking Vixen. She was awesome! woot! wink

You can't always judge a book by the cover presented here on the org. I have met people that are goofballs here on the org who turned out to have the biggest hearts. I have met total braniacs who turn out to be incredibly humorous. One orger I met really illustrated how important it is to check your judgement at the door. This person and I had words before. Not viscious mean words, but we stood in opposite corners on political/social issues. She was apprehensive at first and I gave her the same treatment I would give any of my friends. I chose not to judge her based on her opposing words and I'm glad I didn't. I got to know one of the most vivacious, fun, loving, sensitive, bright girl with the most infectious personality.

Give it a try nod
