I love that one!!! I could sit and watch parts 1-8 all day!! I like number five best because I think the dude that plays Tommy is kinda hot and that the twist with him adopting Jason's role at the end is rather brilliant. Of course, they completely ignored that in no.6 where some godawful jock played Tommy as the all-american hero who gets the girl at the end. My favorite parts are when the teenagers get murdered while engaged in heterosexual activity. I think that sends the right message to the youth of today - that heterosexual sex equals death. [This message was edited Sat Jul 3 23:40:27 2004 by scififilmnerd] I know. Especially Jason X and Freddy vs Jason.....I was too ashamed to even put them in my collection. I wanted to be a completist with the Friday the 13th movies, but I refuse to spend money on the other crappy jason movies. Four strings across the bridge. Almost like Halloween 3...I never understood that whole thing. It had nothing to do w/ parts 1 or 2....or any of em' for that matter. Four strings across the bridge. Not only are Halloween, The Exorcist and Carrie a couple of my favorite horror films, I think they're some of the best films ever made. I've seen each of those 3 countless times and still enjoy them.
Now if you're talkin' goofly, T&A, blood n guts, slasher 80s crap (which definitely has its place in my collection), I love: Friday the 13th -- every last stinkin' one of 'em. And I agree with scififilmnerd -- the guy who played Tommy in 5 was hot, as was the guy in the wheelchair in part 2 (sadly, he past away due to complication with HIV some years ago). Okay, now that I'm lusting after men in horror films, moving on... Terror Train Prom Night Hell Night (you ain't seen nothin' till you see Linda Blair as an "innocent" sorority girl) Nightmare on Elm Street (again, every stinkin' one, including part 2, though Freddy taking on an S&M relationship with a high school boy disturbs me) There's tons more, but I've bored you enough

Does anyone remember a blaxplotation horror movie called "Abby?"
If so, how can I get a copy of it? My favorite horror movie is The Ring. The scariest horror movies are The Exorcist, The Omen and The Shining..basically any movie that begins with 'The'....just kidding.

I went to the movies to see Jason X the first night it came put and I was hoping it would be at least okay, but I was so disappointed!! I had a feeling it would be bad becuase I didnt even like Jason Goes To Hell, and this is coming from a life long Jason fan!! I wasnt expecting much at all from Freddy vs. Jason either and thats exactly what I got... nothing. Oh well I have all three of these in my collection, unopened of course. I'll buy and go see any Jason movie that comes out, but the ones from the 80's will still be the best ever! About what U said about Halloween I never got that either. I mean a movie called Halloween with no Michael!!! What an outrage! However I own that too unopened Did you order a pizza ma'am? Prince- UTCM

My favorite horror movie is the Exorcist.
I also love the Friday the 13th series (except Jason X). Jason X was one of the worst films ever made. I love The Shinning and Halloween as well.

I think Alien holds up quite nicely as one of the creepiest and most claustrophobic movies ever made.
and I never get tired of watching Evil Dead I and II. edit - and hats off to whoever named Blood Feast, though I personally prefer Two Thousand Maniacs as far as Herschell Gordon Lewis films go... [This message was edited Sun Jul 4 12:08:52 2004 by flipwilson]

The Shining Yes, yes and yes!!! That's the only genuine horror film that's been listed here, nigh on all the others (and those that weren't, I didn't find at all scary) have since become representative of the stereotypical teen horror film; I mean - Scream?! What'choo smoking?! That said, my fav. genre is horror since I loooove being scared.

That genre of film didn't exist before it. Yeah, there were TONS of bad rip-offs after it, but it's not a rip-off. The Shining is only okay to me. Good enough, but hardly representative of the book.
