I'm a little drunk on the funk after my first night of Chicago Prince shows, so like just humor me and stuff, cuz I'm about to lay on the sap all heavy -

I appreciate the bejeezus out of all y'all. ALL of yez. ALL. OF. YA.

Going to these concerts puts shit in such perspective...cuz, ya know, on these boards people bicker and caterwaul and get all defensive and offensive and this and that and the other, but we're kinda all here more or less because of an appreciation of the same thing, and when we're all face to face under the same roof at a show, "real time", with lil' Mr. Purplepants playing his heart out to us, it's a whole different scene. There was nothing bitchy or tense or antagonistic about being at that show tonight...once the lights went down, it was all about the love.

And I tend to feel the same way about the Prince nights at Berlin nightclub here in Chicago that I've been to - I haven't been to an off-putting party there yet. It's so much easier to appreciate people when you're face to face, I think, and so much easier to depreciate people when all we're getting is words on a screen. Maybe it's because 80 percent of how we communicate with each other is through body language? Maybe it's because it's harder to look someone in the eye and actually say to their face some of the stuff we find easy to blurt out to each other via the good ol' Intraweb?

I've met some truly awesome people via the so-called "online community", and it's been an honor to do the moderator thing at this site...for whatever dipshit things I might have done thus far, I'm hoping I'm doing a decent job and not pissing too many people off. It's definitely been a learning experience...

So, yeah. I could spit out a list of people on here who make my day brighter, but they know who they are and really, I just dig the heck outta alla ya. Regardless of who I bicker with or tease or razz or regularly scream BANNED!!! at (coughcoughALTHOMcoughcough), you're all just a bunch of big ol' fabulous rock stars and I appreciate ya all.

The latest semester of "Princey High" (endorphin74) has been in session since 3/29/2004.
My commencement exercises took place in L.A. on 5/26, 6/3 & 6/5.
(there's a rumored remedial course scheduled for sometime in Sept.)
