Wedding Presents?!

Hey, I've got a major dilemma here. My friends and I are finally entering that phase of our lives when we start going to each other's weddings. I just found out the other day that the first wedding is coming awfully soon, in September! eek

These are two people we've known for years and are very fond of, but we have no idea what to get for them! Their families know each other and help them get whatever they need, they have a place to live and all the stuff that comes with it, and they're not by any means poor, so they already have everything they need to start a life together. They really already have a life together. They live together in a house that was given to them by the girl's mother when she moved away, and they have no need for any extra appliances, etc, the kind of stuff you usually give as wedding gifts. So what on Earth do you get for two people who already have everything they want and need? Any ideas? confused

Did they register anywhere? That makes it a lot easier if you go by their list if they have one.

I have no idea... They invited me over AIM... They said they're sending official invitations. Maybe they'll have something about that in the invitation. Damn, I hope so! confused

Oh God no! They're the kind of people who lose their minds and start flipping out at the mere mention of Prince's name... They're the kind of unconvertable haters that you just stop mentioning it to... But they're good people in other ways, so I'm learning to let that go...

And besides, the Org is free... They don't need a subscription... lol

I am SURE she registered somewhere.... but a great wedding gift is a nice (not too expensive) bottle of wine with 2 matching wine glasses.... sure they may have wine glasses- but these will be 2 JUST for them and for them to use when together....

or try putting together a "date" basket- get gift certs. for movie theater/popcorn, gift cert to nice resturant, and ten throw in some "things" to fill the basket up- for example, bottle of wine, chocolate body paint, massage oil, a mini-version Kama Sutra book, rubbers, and some after chocolate mints..... wrap it all up pretty and it will look professional- it is a date basket- something to do... followed by something to do.... *giggle*

Be creative- everyone will give them a glass vase, picture frames, and that dumb wedding gift stuff-

You COULD give them each a gift- give her a nice nightie from Victoria's Secret (gift for him too) and give him something that he is into- sports tickets, grill accessories, a gift cert. to a meat shop (for steaks on the grill)

Whatever- I try.... cool

A threesome?
'Cause your friends don't dance, and if they don't dance... well, they're no friends of mine.

Hopefully they are registered somewhere...that'll save you some time and headaches.

A suggestion, one that was given to us on our wedding day by a favorite HS teacher
of mine: Take their wedding invitation, buy a NICE frame that will fit the invitation.
Buy some of those small dried flowers at a craft store, and some clear drying glue.
Also, you'll need a colored paper for the matte.

Assemble it so the edges of the invitation are covered up with the flowers...there's really
no wrong way to do it, just use your imagination and have fun. We've done a couple using
a butterfly, but you could use whatever you find, as long as it looks good to you.

Lastly, sign your regards on the backside of the frame.

It's fun, inexpensive (we always throw the couple an extra $50 in our card also), and
no doubt will be cherished by the couple.

Good Luck...
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I like 2the9s idea!

But may I suggest Tiffany & Co.
You can get all kinds of nice things in all price ranges- you'd be surprised! PLUS it comes wrapped in the trademake Tiffany Blue Box with White Satin Ribbon!
