Don't try to cover it up we all know it was real! Hey, if you're trying to cover it up, you must be one of THEM!

It may be that Prince is behind it all. I read on another thread that he is using Electric Purple to communicate with us. Next time your at a Prince concert, throw some water on him and see what happens!

Some are made by man, others from spacecrafts. They're trying to tell us something, a message.

You sound just like the documentary I watched! Yes... there was a guy on there that makes these, though, he wouldn't fess up to which ones he had done. However, when they showed how he makes them, the hay in the fields wasn't as "matted" as from the other crop circles.

There was also a scientist on there that said he thought they were produced from electrical and magnetic fields and that they were created within seconds... I guess there was something he found in the wheat. He also went to many circles and gathered the wheat/plants that were matted down in these and found that in every one there were no seeds to be found in the areas that were touched.

Whatever it is that causes them, they are beautiful and so intricately designed. I still have a hard time believing that man alone could create a lot of these... especially those with such detail in the design and doing it all in one evening while it was dark... and not having it all zig-zagged and messed up.

I remember from some documentary or other that they also found increased levels of something, ionised particles? negatively charged iron particles ? something like that. Not radiation anyway. A group of students trying to create their own fake circle ran into difficulty because they couldn't scatter these particles in the same density or something as those found in the 'real' circles.

I've heard the 'created in seconds' theory too. There was some video footage captured by crop circle enthusiasts of strange flashing blue 'plasma' which appeared for a few seconds over a field they were watching. A couple of hours later, after sunrise, they discovered a brand new crop circle where the blue light had been seen. Makes ya wonder.

I agree, they are intriguing and beautiful, and I also have difficulty believing that they could all be created overnight by a group of people. I suppose you could argue that they are not always discovered right away, so plausibly a team of people could have days (nights, I guess) or even weeks to work on the complex ones. But it still seems implausible to me. And then you have to wonder why would anyone bother to do this? Obviously not for personal gain. Somebody trying to get into the Guinness Book of Records with the biggest practical joke ever ? Doubtful. (Maybe Andy Kaufman is behind it lol)

Interesting theory, but haven't they only appeared in recent times? If that was the case, they would date much further back.

Yes, agreed. Even the supposition that they could be caused by human interference doesn't cut it, because we've been using electricity, magnetism, radio waves, x-rays and all manner of electrical 'interference' for years before they started to appear.

crazyhorse

There is a isolated mountain range somewhere on the continet of Africa.
At the highest peek sets a clearing.Oval shaped and fairly large.Legend says thats where the Devil choose to do his thinking while here.God would never find him,he felt safe. There are deep patterns carved into the dark stone floor of this clearing that resemble crop circles. Many years ago a small group of villagers that lived at the base reported seeing some creepy things. For 90 straight days each and every morning they would trek to that spot and see these patterns taking shape.Really scared the hell outta them I guess.Happened in the 30's I think.

Maybe these crop circles are a tool for navagation. Not for aliens but for when Satan tries his plan or whatever.

while googling I found this...

Crop art or High Strangeness?
I see little here that would convince me that this formation was made by extraordinary (paranormal) means or a natural phenomenon. The formation is big all right, but fairly simple and straightforward in design.

The farmers say they didn't see any broken seed heads or stems when they first entered. However, when the formation was made, the plants were probably damper and more flexible than when I visited. The farmers also didn't see any tracks into the field.

1. It appears to have been made on a weekend, Saturday night or early hours of Sunday morning at full moon (September 2) when the light would have been good.

2. Plants were bent over at irregular heights. It looked to me like they were pushed over by a mechanical energy.

tramline
3. Paths were 3 feet wide which is a common width for a lawn roller.
4. There was no uniform bending of the upper nodes that I see in formations thought to be made by a rapid heating event. Perhaps the crop was too dry to show any heating effects. However, the fact that the farmer went to the expense of spraying with a desiccant indicates to me that there was still moisture in the plants on September 1.

5. All of the circles were centered between pairs of tramlines left by the equipment tires when the field was sprayed. A private company has agricultural test plots between the formation and the nearby road. There's a driveway into the field.

Here are larger images showing the tramlines on the left.

6. The geometry was somewhat irregular and I can't account for the irregularity. It looks like the design was preplanned for a slightly wider spacing of tramlines, and then adjusted to fit the existing tramlines. A laser level could have been used to guide laying the pathways.

Maybe I was too focused on finding the effects of a zap of high heat that I've seen in other formations. Maybe I was looking for the wrong thing. Maybe something else happened in that field that was truly mysterious.

Exactly, Sag... this is what I argued last night. If man were to attempt to create these, the lines would not be as clean as they are... they would be jagged. Also, it seems like in the more detailed ones, it would be quite difficult to create them without being able to view them from above to see what you were doing.

Here's some examples of man made ones...

This is kind of interesting:

This was the summer when serious contamination of formations began to take place. Some of the hoaxing was done by pranksters looking for attention, some by mischief makers. But, more sinisterly, it was also carried out by known government infiltrators who purposely added man-made features to genuine formations in a attempt to throw the researchers into total confusion. At the height of the hoaxing, an American tourist etched out huge letters on the side of a hill, 'Talk to us'. A reply came back a few days later when a most bizarre-looking formation resembling Hebrew script appeared at Milk Hill. Thought to be a hoax at first but since confirmed to be genuine, it was deciphered as a form of post-Augustan Latin and etched in Freemasonic script, creating two words: OPPONO ASTOSĀ "I oppose acts of craft and cunning." How appropriate given the circumstances. To this day this formation represents the closest the Circlemakers have come to communicating in recognizable script.

One thing was certain- the government's official line that this phenomenon was a manifestation of mini-tornadoes was now seriously ill. For here was an unmistakable symbol, a design that is perhaps one of the most important in Hermetic philosophy (top of page, centre). It is a cosmic law, a collection of numeric, musical and geometrical harmonies which founded the prevailing order in every ancient civilization. It is literally a depiction of the realm of God: it embodies the principle of the Three In One- the Father, son and Holy Ghost, with the Godhead at the centre; it is representational of the cosmic egg, symbol of creation where the three elements- mercury, sulphur and ether- are given substance by the breath of God and made into matter. The central circle contains the total area of the surrounding three circles. The sum of all circular areas comes to 31,680 sq. feet which, 3168 being the gematrian number representing Lord Jesus Christ. The same number was also revered by pagan religions as the number of the highest principle- the Creator.

EDIT: Anyway... if anyone is intested, here is an excellent website. Check out "The History of the Crop Circle", it's pretty interesting!

well, if crop circles aren't fake - each and every one - then they're hilarious. i love the idea that (assuming natural phenomena aren't to blame) intelligent life elsewhere in the universe is trying their best to communicate with us by making pretty swirly things in our wheat. biggrin
