Has anyone here ever taken Belly dancing classes? I'm thinking about doing it.

The guy is from Egypt and he's got my other assistant on this kick... I think I'm gonna go with her over the summer and try it out.

There is this really cool place where we go on occassion... called Oasis (a Mediteranean Restaurant). They have Belly Dancers that perform, what a beautiful dance it is. It puts me into a spell, the body is presented so beautifully when moving in this style of dance.

They have lessons as well... I would love to learn. Actually I would love to express myself in that form, learn to be comfortable... I am so conservative about so many things.

Do it Sweeny... it looks so liberating.

Recently, I seen this band perfom at this festival. They had some belly dancers on stage, 2 of the girls had a nice body, but there was this one who had a pot belly.

I ribbed on her a bit and a friend of mine corrected me and told me that in ancient times that was the desired figure for a belly dancer. Somehow when a woman was a bit chubby this aroused the men even more. That's cool in all, but errr.....

From what I know it is more attractive in certain cultures when a woman is "more developed" because it is a sign of wealth, a sign she is well cared for.
