The Perfect Job/Career For You...

Think about what you would consider being the "perfect" job or career for you.... hmmm

How close are you to having it?

Are you doing anything to help yourself achieve it?

Do you think having this particular job/career is unrealistic for you?

Waking up, and actually looking forward to leaving your home and going to work....is an amazing feeling. nod...losing track of the time while working, and even wishing you had more time to work, is even better. sun

So...what's your "perfect job/career"...and how close are you to living that perfection? smile

I will make a living as a musician. I'm confident in that.
How close am I? God only knows, but I'm not stopping.

I would love to work with animals. But not with owners. So I couldn't be a vet. But with a BA in lit, what could I feasibly do with animals?
I mean, like, where is the sun?

Me too, i love animals. I wouldn't want to be a vet too, because of the worms and broken bones, and i wouldn't want to deal with the people too much. I don't know what career field to go into. So i'm kinda confused, but working with animals is my number one choice.

I'm very close to having the teaching job I want. My other choice is doing web production work for Mayo Clinic, and I'm still waiting for that one.

I'd love to be a writer. I've done some writing on the side and I'm pretty good at it. But I've never had anything published or anything. I'm also pretty opinionated and very good at arguing, so a career in philosophy is a feasible goal. A job where I get to stay behind the scenes and share my ideas without having to deal with people in person or on the phone, that would be perfect. I also love music and play the clarinet fairly well, and to do that professionally would be wonderful.

The career I'm actually pursuing, though, is animal/human behavior, AKA Psychology. My major used to be Animal Bioscience/Animal Behavior, but it just wasn't exactly what I wanted so I changed to just plain Psychology. I really enjoy it and I'm excited to see what kind of job I get. I really love hearing a story about the way a person acts and then trying to put the puzzle together and explain it. Ideally, I think I'd love to help profile the minds of criminally insane people and serial killers. Help the FBI and the police catch the bad guys, ya know? But I'd settle for something in counseling. Maybe I could write books on it so I never have to deal with people.

I also have a silly fantasy of being an actress or performer of some kind. It's completely contrary to my socially anxious nature, but it's a nice dream.

I really have a lot of options open to me right now since I'm not finished college yet and I'm interested in a lot of different things. I'll let you all know how it turns out. Surely I'll still be hanging around the Org then. biggrin

Edit...I can't believe I spelled something wrong in the same post where I claimed to be a decent writer... So embarrassed...

Me three - I've always had a passion for animals ever since I was really little. I used to sometimes fantasise about what it would be like to win lotto or win HUGE money - one of the first things I'd do (apart from taking care of my family and friends) would be to open an animal care shelter. That would be SOOOOO cool!

The other thing I'd love to do is get into the music industry - I've always been told I'm like a little "Molly Meldrum" for those who don't know who he is he's been in the Music Industry way longer than I've even been alive - they call him "guru" and he can still, to this day, make or break an artist/band...what he doesn't know about music and the industry isn't worth knowing. My family and friends have always told me my knowledge of music is like that - it's a huge compliment...

As a kid, I wanted to be a writer, or own a music shop!

Now, I'm an actuary. It suits me perfectly to be honest.

How close are you to having it? I have lived it already, I am living it all now.

Are you doing anything to help yourself achieve it? Everyday. I feel every morning I wake-up with a mission to accomplish, some beautiful purpose that awaits. Struggles exist along the way, of course... I embrace it all, nonetheless. I usually achieve what I set out to do... that has always been within my power. yes

Do you think having this particular job/career is unrealistic for you? Are you wacky, NO!

Waking up, and actually looking forward to leaving your home and going to work....is an amazing feeling. I know this well... and through all my years of occupation, I have truly had (still do) much joy and satisfaction in the days I put in, all the effort I put forth and all that I learn within the process. Right now... I know my direction is about to change dramatically and I am so ready for the challenges and beautiful moments that will enter my life. (Beautiful question/statement to ponder... Byron) rose

So...what's your "perfect job/career"...and how close are you to living that perfection?

Teaching, most definitely... with a social worker approach. Great moments will always come... and I can't wait for them to unfold. Living in the moment is what I try my best to do... although I do get impatient, boy do I. batting eyes

If everyone had the perfect job/career then no one would have anything to bitch about and life would be boring. Your job/career is what you make it.

But is your job or career perfect for you?...One where you don't have to alter your mindset to make it pleasurable or even tolerable, one that fits you to perfection....can you imagine what job or career would fit that description, and are you either already within that career or working towards it?
