I have visited Monterey and Carmel. I like Carmel-by-the-sea, soooo laid back and peaceful. I named my daughter after that place, just added an "a" after Carmel_ = Carmela. Beautiful places Byron. And yes they have lots of Ohh purple joy oh purple bliss oh purple rapture! REAL MUSIC by REAL MUSICIANS - Prince "I kind of wish there was a reason for Prince to make the site crash more" ~~ Ben |

My daughter and I were born n raised there. It's not overrated.
There's plenty of Coke, but be clear that it's a Seven-Up town. Bring your money, cuz nothing's cheap. Visit Cannery Row, the Aquarium, the 17-Mile Drive, and my alma mater, the Carmel Mission aka. Junipero Serra School. Say hi to Mrs. Marchi, my former 1st grade teacher and the current principal! "Pedro offers you his protection."

I used to live about 45 minutes from Monterey. The Monterey Bay Aquarium is kinda cool. Cannery Row is interesting. Very beautiful, if you like the sea. It's worth the trip. Make reservations at one of the nicer restaurants on the coast. You'll have fun. I'll be down that way myself in a few days.

Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect, it means you've decided to look beyond the imperfections... unknown

They are both amazingly beautiful places. I have been through both during trips to or from Northern California and I highly recommend a visit if you can. When I strolled through those towns, I couldn't believe people live like that.

They are both beautiful - but they are pricey as hell (esp Carmel) and can be a bit touristy. I guess that's like any seaside town, though... I mean, like, where is the sun?
