What Happens In Vegas...

... Stays in Vegas!

So, I really can't tell you what went on over there... giggle

Actually - nothing.

I was with the kids and went to visit my Uncle - who is not doing so well.

I did manage to go out and play some slots.... saw a lot of family... ate a lot... drank a lot... saw some strippers... and won some small bits o' money here and there.

I think I broke even. batting eyes

Las Vegas looks like a monstrosity to me June7. As a man of clearly good taste that you indeed are, please sell it to me...

Alas, I cannot.

I only went there to see my Uncle.

While I love the thrill of a chance at winning "big money" instantly, the sad fact is it's a place where poverty, drug addictions (among others), and sex are everywhere.

I went with my cousin and ended up on Fremont Street, which is now a big walking area, town square type. My wife dared me and him to go into this strip joint (I don't even remember the name), so we did... little did I know we needed to buy two drinks each to stay ($33.00 for four beers!!). I downed my beers, chatted with the strippers, and quickly made my exit. My wife laughed all the way home!

We walked on the Strip the next day to see the waterfall show at the Bellagio. Afterwards, I went and played Bingo with my Aunt... no winners. sad

I did manage to win some money on the slot machines... but, to tell you the truth, it's so smokey over there (cigarette smoking galore) that you leave with that stench all over you, which makes for a very unpleasant feelings of uncleanliness... Yuck!

It's a four hour drive for me (one way), but it was worth it to see my Uncle and Aunt.

Alas, it is indeed a shame. Aside from you seeing your Uncle, you have to a great extent re-affirmed my doubts about Las Vegas.

Don't judge too quickly though. I'd hate for you not to see it based on my account.

The lights and "show business" atmosphere about it is really something else. If for nothing else, make your own judgement based on your own experience... I'd check it out first...

The lights are truly something to behold. nod
