How mean can you be?

i just said something a little off colour about another orger and i thought it might have been a bit mean of me.
do you think you can be mean, i mean really mean, like nasty to someone you may or may not know?
when you are mean, do you recognize that you are being mean?

I think it depends on the recipient's personality as well as the tone in which the message is delivered. Sometimes it comes across wrong and may be misinterprated. In which case an apology may be a good idea to calrify that there was no ill intended in the message. Unless of course you meant it to be mean.

I sometimes wonder if you recognize that you are sort of mean to others Milty but since you started this thread I guess you do. It's cool to express your opinion but only if it's just an opinion.Acting more superior than others might rub folks the wrong way. I've also noticed you coming on peoples threads that the topic seems not to be of interest to you and posting this bored .... yet when you want to log off you create a good night thread or a beautiful morning thread as if you deserve 5 star 's for them.

yeah like on tuesday, i was having a bit of a weird day (i blame venus) and i was out that night with a couple of friends and the waitress came up to us and asked if we wanted anything and i said can we have the drinks menu and the food menu.

anyway, i realized when she walkd away that she cut her eyes at me and walked away, that my tone was a bit snobbish. so when she returned with the menus i promptly apologized to her. she was said it was ok and we left her a huge tip.

I'm only mean if provoked. Even when I have complete justification for acting mean, I never feel good about it. And yes, I always know if I'm being mean.

I really try to not be mean. And I am aware of when I am. Particularly if it is on this site. After getting fed up with so much negativity, I decided that I couldn't be fed up with it if I was a part of it. So I really work now to not post things that are negative. I see plenty of things that really piss me off, and I generally try to click away. It's not worth fighting over in a virtual forum. Not to me, at least.
