I am going there as a long weekend trip with my man, and also to take that couple hour drive to Summerfest.. AHHHHH Summerfest, but i was thinking of where to eat where to hang out at night and things like that

Definately see downtown Chicago at night, Michigan Avenue. I've been here all of life and I'm still amazed by it.

I've stayed at the Hyatt Regency Chicago and the W City Center. The Hyatt has a great location, and I believe it's the largest hotel in the city (2,000+ rooms). Very majestic.

I was also pleased with the W City Center, although I think its renovation was a bit sloppy, and the location is better suited to a business trip than pleasure travel (although it's right by an L station, and I found it easy to get where I needed to go). They have a DJ spinning house music in the lobby in the evening, and they even pipe the sound into the elevators... very cool. Order a drink from the lobby bar, sit back, and enjoy the music.

I've also heard good things about the other W location in Chicago, the W Lakeshore. (In the spirit of full disclosure, I should state that I'm a big fan of the W Hotels chain.)
