Actually, it's not something I ever thought about until people bring it up. The first time I remember somebody saying something like that was in high school. As a small kid I ran my mouth a hell of a lot more than I do now. Just recently even my mother asked me why I thought that change came about,  I told her I had no idea. And I don't. Don't get me wrong, when I get annoyed I GET EXASPERATED, and become more acerbic than even sometimes I would like. Some people should just be verbally laid into.  Mostly I really do have to be pushed and pushed to get to that point. And I have no problem being sarcastic with adults when I think it's called for.  In general, I don't bother folks unless they bother me.
And, are you as direct in "real life" as you are here?
Yes. And sometimes in hindsight I feel I should have been more direct after I've held back.
