So...

When you're at the dentist... for a check-up or whatever, do you keep your eyes closed while he is busy working on your teeth, or do you keep them open watching every little thing he does?

Why do I want to know? Who bloody knows... I just do!

I pretty much keep them closed and try to get some shut eye while I can...

eyes open. I'm always fascinated with that sort of thing. I always watch when i'm giving blood too.

I always close my eyes cuz I don't like looking up into my dentist's nose hairs.

I do both. Sometimes i open 'em (i feel so vulnerable sittin there in dat reclined seat). Sometimes I close 'em (for fear the sunglasses they give me will NOT block out dat big bright light dats shining in my face and damage my cornia).

I always try to keep my mouth closed when I'm at the dentist!

On a related topic:

When I had my wisdom teeth removed I gave one of the nurses a camera and asked her to take pictures of me at various stages of the procedure (I was completely put under for the duration). I was actually kind of disappointed in the pictures - they weren't nearly as disgusting as I was hoping. However, she might have declined to take photos of the more gory parts.

I never know what to do... I mean, if I close them he speaks to me and it seems rude to have my eyes closed when we're talking.... even though he has my mouth wide open and messing around in there. But, then I feel stupid keeping my eyes open when he isn't speaking to me.

Usually, I have them open, but I am looking straight ahead, which I usually can't see much... but, I don't look up at him.

They wear a mask and stuff like that there...so the only part of my dentist I ever see is his/her eyes...so stare at that goofy travel poster they have pinned to the ceiling over the chair...

I close my eyes.. I escape from the drilling my meditating..

First time I went to my new dentist I was suprised to see about 10 or more ladies in the waiting room. No men there. As I waited I learnt most of them came without a date. "Emergencies" they said. HAA!

I enter , sit and then comes out one of the most handsome men I've ever seen. Those hipnotizing eyes!
No wonder the girls in waiting were giggling excited all the time Perverts!!

I keep my eyes open. I wanna know what the hell he/she is doing in my mouth. I'm always asking,"What's that for? Why are you doing that? blah blah blah" I question every single thing they do, and they are either very irritated by me, or very amused by me.

Kinda related, but I used to have this GREAT looking hair stylist, and in the process of cutting my hair would practically stick her chest directly into my face. I loved going to get my hair done. I mean, how could a teenage boy NOT look!

Reminds me of something Steven Wright talked about. He really liked his dental hygenist, so while he was waiting in the reception area to have his teeth cleaned he would have an entire box of Oreo cookies.
