thats really sad, 35 feet in the air, and fell on her head on concrete ??? dear god, thats a horrible way to go my kids and i ended up at a circus again this year, i HATE those things, the elephants - that breaks my heart, but, here where i live, they formed a line..and told them you are not welcome here with them, we dont agree with how they are treated, and so, there was not one elephant here in our circus. that was cool....however, i watched them put a little girl, like maybe 5 or 6, with a metal hoop wrapped in her hair...being pulled to the celing...and twirled all around by her father that held the ropes that pulled her up there. that was a very disturbing image to see. it amazes me what being "born into the circus" really means for these poor children after the show, i went up to ask her how that made her feel up there, and if it hurt, her older sister said, oh no, i used to do it all the time. in my conversation with her, i could tell that she has not had that much schooling in her little life. it just makes me appreciate what having my babies in the schools they are does for them. circus life is sad, im sorry this woman had to die that way One of the best days of my life... http://prince.org/msg/100/291111

very sad, and they're investigating a law in minnesota which requires the use of a 'safety device' for acts just like hers.
i wish she'd used a net. | |

Ex-Moderator | A friend and I were talking about this just today. Tragic. But you know what they do when an accident like this happens in the circus? They send in the clowns. To distract the children from what they've just seen. No wonder children acquire clown phobias. |

Yes, and I also heard on the tv news that while the clowns were out trying to distract people from what had just occurred, there were also 3 people in biohazard suits in full view mopping up a huge pool of blood. Had I been there that day, with or without kids with me, I would have just left. I couldn't have stayed and enjoyed anything after she fell. | |
