I saw 21 Grams in the theater, and it's an awesome movie! You definitely have to rent that one!

Eternal Sunshine was very good, too!

I'll have to check it out! I heard it was good, thanks! biggrin

I rented 'Touching The Void' yesterday, pretty good.
Some people are like Slinkies...

They're good for nothing but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

"britney, baby, one more time"

it was a very funny indy film about a britney spears impersonator and tv crew trying to interview the real britney but they settle for the impersonator instead.

"Nowhere" I rented this and watched it last night. It's a little strange... worth the rent if you haven't got anything else to do. Nothing spectacular, though.

Seen in the Cinema : "Or" an Israeli film by Keren Yedaya it is about a 17-year-old Or - played by Dana Ivgy - the daughter of Ruthie - played by Ronit Elkabetz - an aging prostitute whose mental condition is deteriorating. Although she repeatedly promises to her daughter that she will leave her work, she is incapable of doing so. The two live together in a small Tel Aviv apartment, and most of the film describes their routine, in which Or cares for her mother, works as a dishwasher in a restaurant, and cleans the stairwell of the building where they live to earn enough money to pay rent. Occasionally, when she has time, Or also goes to school. The mother-daughter role reversal is the most heartwarming and complex element of the film, which indicates it is a work well-anchored in the practical and theoretical feminist consciousness. Or's sexual encounters with a long and random list of men are depicted as a continuation of her mother's life - and also as a reaction to it. In this way, the film offers an ambivalent statement where Or's capitulation to the reality in which she lives is, paradoxically, also an act that indicates strength and independence....A substantial part of what makes this film unique is the way in which Yedaya chose to film it (using the French photographer, Laurent Brunet). The film is entirely comprised of long and static shots. The camera does not move even once, and the film refrained from the traditional editing that runs from long shots to close-ups and so on. The film also does not have an accompanying soundtrack. All of these imbue it with an impressive severity that becomes part of the statement, and turns it into a film that operates on several different ideological and aesthetic levels. Another reason why the film is so successful is the performance of Ivgy (Daughter of Meshe Ivgy), who carries the film on her shoulders and shapes the character of Or in a precise, rich and moving fashion.

I also saw The Royal Tenenbaums again yesterday on cable trying to give it a chance ....alot of good freinds of mine realy liked it....(maybe i didnt get it..) I usually like comedies. I like dark comedies. I like tragicomedies....The Royal Tenenbaums was none of those....It is not that the actors did not do well in their parts. (Danny Glover was a joy, Bill Murray was superb, and Owen Wilson was brilliant, as usual. Paltrow, Stiller, and Luke Wilson were adequate.) The plot was just so incredibly horrid that not even great acting could save it. (and for those of you who are thinking ...hmmmm if Robert De Niro was in it he wolud of liked it.....as a matter of fact maybe....i mean he did save Meet The Parents.... ).....Sorry guys and gals, but this movie was garbage. As I sit here the following day typing this review pondering what it was that I watched, all that I am left with is the distinct feeling that there is a 2 hour time frame in my life that I cannot recall. I know this film took up that space, but this movie left me with nothing to remember it by. Hmmmmm.....interesting
