Interesting thought.....

Have you ever thought of recreating yourself? That you are not stuck continuing down the same path you have been either directed to and or feel "stuck" on? That you can live somewhere else be anyone you choose to be. It's never to late?

I would guess that most the time we don't even think about it. We just wake up and continue down the path of least resistance in our lives. ( Speaking for humanity on a whole.)

Well then you are recreating yourself. You are shifting your destiny no?

I am going on the concept that most people never move out or far from the city of their birth for instance , etc.... Which is great if they are happy but if they are not.... Does it occur that you have it within you to change all that.

boxed I still live in the city I was born in. I'd like to move, but I don't think recreating yourself has that much to do with where you are. Maybe just a little... But it's more important to work on your demons as they say. Funny you should bring this up, because I've been thinking about the way I am, and not accepting it and considering that maybe there is a better way. I don't want to repeat negative patterns anymore. It's scary and liberating. It's like loosing your identity.

there's also something to be said about being comfortable with the way you are and not feeling like you have to constantly change. Not so much resisting change, just realizing who you are and being comfortable and loving that person.

I can write a long book about this... you know. This topic and sense of awareness is the very thought I think about all the time.... and I mean all the time. The power to choose our daily path, for the most part. We have no power to our start of existence and (for the most part) our time of death. But inbetween those two vital moments... we can make a lot of decision making, choose our journey in life. Options we have and in endless amounts... we got to make the steps to nurture our souls, it's all within us... and "we" as individuals are the soul ones to make those decisions.

I better make some wise decisions today and get myself busy in all the right ways. hug

~We can talk more about this in a personal way. rose (anytime dear beautiful friend)

Agreed! The 'ol demons. Yeah..... your right there, It's scary and liberating. The fear factor I feel holds us where we are at. If we drop the thought from consciousness then the icky discomfort feeling vanishes. Some sort of a mental trap.

For me I have used preoccupation's, distractions and hindrances to prevent me from the discomfort. Oh and also the occasional glass of wine to vanquish it as well.
Choosing to face it all and make the changes is both a solo journey and a painful one. I am convinced that it is worth the journey.

I agree with the loving yourself part... but up until now I thought that just meant "liking" yourself. I now understand it's more than that, taking care of yourself and nurturing yourself, however you choose to do that.

I'm basically a very touchy-feely person (going back to the cheating thread, ie affectionate). I've basically driven my boyfriends away by doing that toooo much. So, as an exercise I am now questioning every action, instead of saying well, this is just who I am. I would go into more specifics but this is too personal and too present right now.

You never know whos lurking... lurking

Evolution in ones mind is a beautiful thing.

I think in general most of humanity is looking for an answer, happiness, fullfillment.

I think in order to recreate oneself, one must me comfortable with who they are now.. And grow from there.

Just my two cents!

Very true! Love for oneself is integral to any endeavor. It is also a trait that readily brings condemnation from others. Now that is a deep thought. However you probably stumbled on the very thing that causes the road to fail. Lack of love for oneself.

without love for yourself, you can go about changing the wrong things. that defeats the point of recreation.

I don't think so... condemnation comes from former selves.. One who throws stones, gets stones... If the change is sincere, then it is transparent.

There is a difference in loving oneself, and trying to convince everyone how wonderful one is.. (Not referring to you)

At some point in my life I was on that path. But fortunately for me my evolution started at the age of 23...

Good luck in your journey.. Just remember it takes a lifetime, be patient, and sincere in all that you do.. And never forget where you came from.. that is first and foremost in growth.

(Not referring to me? suree you are! ...and that is ok. lol ) If someone is convinced I am wonderful then I am honored. Though it isn't a personal endeavor.

I suffered from quite the opposite. Trusting people so little that I chose not to be known. I didn't want people to see my flaws I so hated the feeling of vulnerability that I lost touch with myself. Only those I trusted deeply knew me. Then I wondered why others misunderstood me. I came off in a way that was not genuine.

Or popped in and out with deep remarks that weren't received because I lacked relationship with the individuals. (Not saying you do that.) I have learned so much about being open and vulnerable before others. The greater lesson is they love you anyway flaws and all and relationship builds and healing begins. I am off center a bit still, but I like not being an island unto myself.

It takes a lifetime? Yes, I look forward to it. You are very brilliant and deep Sag. and despite your clear judgments of me which are so transparent. (A person you have never had a conversation with.) I have managed to set those feelings aside and gleam great things from your posts. Than you for sharing.
