Virginia Woolf! I just finished my first book by Virginia Woolf!
To the Lighthouse! The plot was very, very simple - almost too simple - but the rest of it was dense as fuck! It's said to be her most autobiographical novel. I found it interesting that she's always been called a 'feminist essayisy/novelist/etc etc etc' but the notes in my book said that Woolf detested the word feminist. Okay, anyway! I know there are some literary enthusiasts here on the org. Share, explore, prod, probe... I mean, like, where is the sun?

I didn't like Virginia Woolf. But then i've only read Orlando at school. But her style of writing annoyed me. Same with Jane "let's base an entire novel around a girl falling off a wall" Austen.

I felt the same way when I started the book, but it is very good - granted, I was guided through it with criticism, which made it LOTS easier to take. You know who sucks, though? Wyndham Lewis. I mean, like, where is the sun?

Seriously, Lewis has some scathing criticism of Woolf. She once spent three days in bed after she read an essay he wrote about her. I think you can find it in Men Without Art.
