i had picked latoya to win after i heard her audition --- her talent is incredible, and she is so humble this one damn near brought tears to my eyes....i have no idea who will win it now

The audience let out a collective boo that said it all. And if anyone missed the point, the three "safe" contestants were crying, and so was Paula Abdul. Randy Jackson looked angry, like he wanted to say something real plain and loud.

The only thing that saved the show from turning into a riot was the fact Fantasia was the one left standing. If it had been Fantasia, the rest of the competition would have been a total znooze. She's the one who brings both talent and excitement. Latoya has loads of talent, but she was just playing it too safe, like Miss Perfect Pitch-not-a-hair-out-place.

She probably dodged a bullet here. Although she has a contract with the American Idol folks for touring and compilations, she'll probably be signed to another label like J records and have slightly better chances of getting some good material.

Anyhoo, I think American Idol should take a break next year or end it altogether, because the competition is turning into a really bad joke.

La Toya's outgoing performance was great. I can't believe she was voted off. Keep in mind this is May sweeps. I think this is rigged. Jasmine's ass should be gone.

this is the first year that ive watched this show...and despite all the crapping on about it i find it to be harmless fun.....its not like im going to buy any of these people albums...its jus an extension of Showtime at the Apollo, Dance Fever, Gong Show and Star Search.....


and you know what? something tells me that both Fantasia and Latoya dont want to be the winner of this thing...The fact of the matter is, most industry insiders try and shy good talent away from auditioning for this thing....the contract split is horrible....

i bet you fantasia is going to continue to pick off ball choices in an attempt to loose...they would do much better to take the attention from Idol and negotiate a legitimate contract.....I think I read somewhere that the percentage split for anyone who signs up with the Idol team is worse then what TLC signed up for....

In other words..they would be broke even if they sold platinum levels...

What the hell, I figured the Hawaiian chick would get the boot. I cannot believe LaToya is gone. Something wrong here.

This is the same thing that happened the 1st year with i think her name was tamyra gray,
I stopped watching it then and for some reason i started watching it again this year.

well....if fantasia is gone next week....american idol can kiss another season good bye. I think ppl are really tripping on this season. It just looks like a set up and I don't even watch the show.....

Latoya will have a great career....her voice is great!!

I don't think this show will be back on next year. This is the 2nd time this season that someone who shouldn't have gone home left early. It's getting ridiculous and I'm still pissed at what happened. Shame on America.

It would seem to me that they have their finger on the pulse of America and beyond..... Creating drama and tension even in the viewership is precisely what the studios order. Rattled or not you will all view it to the end... Commercials will go at a premium and they really aren't interested in the fairy tale but the ratings.
The powers that be do not care about these individuals or their careers. They care about the vehicle.

To sum it up

That's Hollywood folks!

Oh man have I lived here to long!
