Garbage Salad?

What the hell is so appealing about naming food "garbage salad"?

HEY, WHATCHA EATIN?

Oh, just a big ol' bowl of compost and used tampons with french dressing on top - want some?

GROSS!!!

Do people really EAT this? Personally, I'll have no part of it.

What are we, GOATS?

i'm sorry. it's just been bothering me lately. i think garbage salad is popular here in chicago, and i just don't see the appeal of eating something named after trash. i guess i'm just getting hung up on semantics or something. but think of your favorite food and think of if you'd still eat it if they renamed it "mildewy diarrhea surprise" - i bet you wouldn't.

I thought this thread was gonna be about salads with white and brown lettuce and soggy tomatos.

you're thinking of the man caramel bukkakelatte with seasonal he-froth. the above is an original dish.

i don't even know what it's made up of, or how it's prepared or served. it just sounds nasty. do they serve it in a metal garbage pail? the more i think about it, the more i want to condemn it.

That's good with a shot of amaretto though.

The name sucks but the ingredients are OK...
Fresh greens tossed with grilled chicken, egg, cheddar cheese, Roma tomatoes, artichoke hearts, green onions, bacon, olives, & balsamic vinaigrette

Sounds a lot like a regular salad to me!!

I know Starbucks makes frappucinos without coffee or mocha flavor - like vanilla bean or strawberry or fruity-fruit or whatever. I think Dunkin Donuts has a frozen vanilla chai tea frappucino - chai tea is VERY yummy.
