Do you know when you're going to die? Back in Februray when my mother passed away, I was with her for the last 12 hours of her life. At one point, she opened her eyes and asked me if I was ok, I said yes mom, I'm good. Not much later, she passed away.
I'm wondering if she knew that this was it, she was going to leave and do her thing on the otha side and she wanted to make sure that "i'm ok". do you know when you're about to die?

I am sure some people are that strong. Not all though. Some people actually wait until they are alone.
It all depends on the person, I guess.

I believe some people do. My Nana knew before she went into hospital for a standard operation that she wouldn't be coming home. She gave my mother and I things she wanted us to have and said her goodbyes. She died a couple of days after the operation, it was one of the worst days of my life, she will be forever missed.
I am so sorry for your loss

I sincerely feel that you do know. My grandfather hung on until all of his kids showed up before he passed on, my grandma sat up straight in bed, after being so doped up on Morphine that she was incoherent for days, and looked right at me and winked and immediately passed on after that.
I know, that when I was a teen and was hospitilized due to a severe allergic reaction to some medication, that I felt that I could go, however, I felt that I wasn't ready and struggled to hang in there. It's was a feeling of just wanting to rest and give up. I think that those who are in their final moments probably feel this or something similar... then they just give up and do rest. I am sorry to hear about your mom, Rhonda. I'm sure that's exactly what she was doing... checking to see if you were okay. . [This message was edited Wed May 5 5:56:07 2004 by AzureStarr]

Ex-Moderator | My grandma knew and I think my whole family knew. We had one last dinner all together over at her house and within a day or so after that she passed away. |
