It's Teacher Appreciation Day!

So lets take a second to honor all of those who help to make the future brighter for our children.

To my fellow org educators, clapping worship keep up the good work! woot!

hug flower... hmm are you suppose to be teaching right now. nana rose

Ps~Beautiful are the days when you can just stay home, turn up the radio, CD player... and dance. dancing jig I find myself doing that a lot today... and all by myself. falloff

***More beautiful is to teach and touch the hearts of children... to make that connection of trust and fulfilling growth in all possible ways. To allow for an environment of safety to learn all they can (through direct hands on ~personal~ experience and learning manipulatives) and be all that they can be... in the most nurturing of way. Education with compassion (for self and others), understanding and a sense of awareness for all... is key. heart

Seriously, during my 2nd interning block... the teacher I was interning for (5th grade) was always on the computer (putting the children to do busy work)... I just couldn't take it. sad

My personal life has been full of teachers... nod

So...

"The real object of education is to leave a man in the condition of continually asking questions." ~Bishop Creighton

"I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand." ~Chinese proverb

"Teaching is not a lost art. But the regard for it is a lost tradition." ~Jacque Barzun

"Let's put our thinking caps on, shall we, and think of what flowers we are going to be....

A horse isn't a flower, Sidney...

No, a carrot isn't a flower, Sidney...

No, Sidney, you can't be a Superjet...

Alright, you can be a cauliflower, but be it gently." ~Joyce Grenfell
