When I was in L.A. I went to, arguably, the best record shop in the country!

Last Saturday, I was hanging out with my cousin and his friend. After we saw Morris Day & The Time at Hollywood Park, we decided to cruise the Sunset Strip and Hollywood Blvd. So one of the places we went to was this record shop called Ameoba Music. That place was frickin' HUGE!!! eek

I have come to the conclusion that Amoeba has to be the largest and best record store I've ever been to. Now I love collecting music, and there are many indie places in NYC that I have gone to, but none of them, I repeat, NONE OF THEM COMPARE TO AMOEBA!

I walked outta there with like almost $50 worth of music, including rare and hard to find shit that I had never thought I'd see. I was on a budget, so I couldn't spend too much, but I wish I could've bought so much more. I've gotta go back there when I visit Cali again.

So anyways, you L.A. resident orgers might know what I'm talking about. But for those that don't or don't live in L.A., if you ever do visit, check out this store. it's off the chain. big grin

Or check out the website: www.amoebamusic.com

I forgot to mention that bands make in-store appearances at Amoeba. I haven't seen any at the time I was there, but I'd like to one day.

Amoeba is the bomb!!! It's a music lovers wet dream drool That LA store is where I saw Me'Shell N'degeocello and got her to sign my favorite album, Peace Beyond Passion, to "Supa"

Any visitors to LA absolutely need to visit this store. The rare and promo stuff is excellent. I found a copy of the out of print CD "Moon In Scorpio" by the family stand. There are gems galore. I'm so glad you got to visit this store while you were here.
