should i or shouldn't i? i just received an email that my...ok, ok, deep breaths...my 10 year high school reunion is being planned. well, one of my high scholl reunions. in my junior year i moved and transferred to another school. now, most of my friends...some of which i'm still friends with...were all at the original high school. i lived in that district pretty much my whole academic life. my question is this: since i didn't graduate from that high school, should i go to the reunion? i'll know everyone there and they'll know me but, technically, i guess it's not my high school reunion. i kind of want to go but i don't know if its out of line for me to attend since i did not walk the aisle with that group. one thing's for sure, i don't want to go to the other high school reunion at all. oooh, how i hated that school and those kids, lol!

Ex-Moderator | Go and have a ball! If the only thing holding you back is you transferred your junior year, I wouldn't let that stop you. I have a friend in a similar situation who went to both, and had a blast at both.
I will say, mine was last year and I didn't even consider going. Mainly cause the few people I would have wanted to catch up with are like me and wouldn't have gone either. [This message was edited Sat May 1 7:11:23 2004 by CarrieMpls] |

Who cares if you didn't graduate from your original high school? If you had/have friends there, and you'd like to see them, I'm sure they'd love to see you there, too! And if you hated your second high school, screw 'em! You're not obligated to go!

Well obviously the invitation says you are welcome to attend.
Why should you feel weird about where you graduated? I wonder what your feelings are about the reunion. My sister went to her 10-year reunion and she said it wasn't like everyone had established their careers and completely self-actualized contrary to the pressure everyone feels to "impress".

is this a classmates.com invitation? if you signed up for classmates under that graduating class they will give you an automated responce whenever a reunion is planned....
the choice really isnt up to you... the committee planning your graduation will send a formal invite out (unless its an all are welcome picnic or something)....we had our ten year reunion a couple years back and as a committee decided on only allowing those who graduated with us attend..i dont remember what led to that decision but we did compromise by having an open invitation to any and all for the picnic that followed the reunion dinner/dance.... Space for sale...

I had a good time at my reunion last year (surprisingly) so I suggest you go to both.
